Well you can't blame people and companies for looking out for their bottom dollar. China is basically the world's manufacturing center. Cheap labor. I mean that's just obvious I don't need to say that.
It might not always be that way. I remember about 10 years ago or so they were saying Africa was going to be the next manufacturing center and source of cheap labor. I'm not sure that'll ever happen.
The United States still manufactures a lot of stuff though. Some people will pay for higher quality and a stamp that says made in the USA on it. Or made in England or made in Canada or made in Germany. I know I do.
But when it comes to everyday items that really don't matter much, I don't want to spend top dollar. Like just basic household goods or t-shirts or whatever. I don't mind that China makes a lot of stuff.
China doesn't have much of an internal consumer market. That's what I'm thinking. I'm not sure that the workers there are being elevated into a middle class status. I know there's a lot of rich people in China but there are way more poor people. I'm not sure if they will ever have their own consumer base that could support their manufacturing if it weren't for the outside world buying all of China stuff.
