OK to upgrade or wait for debugging?

I have 2 machines running 11. Upgraded both from 10 pro. No issues so far. Both machines are newer builds.

So far I've laid my hands on about half a dozen or so W11 machines. Half of them have been upgraded, the rest fresh from factory which should mean they've been tested for compatibility.

The issues I've ran into have been very strange in a way: The built-in Defender may not work, clicking the icon asks to download an app from the Store. There's a PowerShell spell available to fix the issue - but PowerShell may not work either! There's other similar quirks.

I'd wait for the next three years until the support of W10 ends. There's enough eager fools for Microsoft to use as free guinea pigs.

Windows 11 is incompatible with too many of my programs.

Sounds like it might break the trend of every other Microsoft OS being crap:  Windows NT (crap), Windows 95/98 (eventually decent), Windows 2000 (crap), Window XP (decent), Windows Vista (crap), Window 7 (decent), Windows 8 (crap), Windows 10 (decent).

Hi All,

I thought about swapping over to Win 11 & had my box all set up to do so but then decided that it wasn't that important for me to go thru with it so will stay w\ Win 10 until forced to switch to Win11.

I upgraded my wife's older laptop just after I posted above. It was a fairly slow machine. Since updating from 10 pro to 11, it is quite a bit faster than it was. My wife likes it. She was about to get another laptop, but now she says this one is fine.

I figured that if it bogged down after upgrade, I could just go back to 10. Was surprised that it is faster now.

Shuffler, I believe it must be because the upgrade cleaned all garbage left from the previous Win10 smaller updates. It's sort of a clean install.

windows 11 is the smartest OS I have ever used. It is even better than Win10! For me IMO and from what I've been reading many more users feel that as well! :aok

I finally upgraded to 11 last month and agree with you Morf...it's quick to boot up and the transition from 10 was pretty painless. Edge still sucks but that's to be expected.  :devil
