I love Chino. What a gem of a place. I used to live within driving distance. I miss that place.
Especially now that I know I could meet my pals Gina and semp there.
Another excellent local air museum is The Museum of Flight in Seattle. One of the greatest things ever was that every few months they used to have panel discussions with WWII pilots. Stories as amazing as any you'd read in books about WWII air combat.
One of these days, I'd like to see if we can get their video collection of the talks released.
An example of the sort of stuff you'd get:
I also came across an excellent little flight museum in Idaho called The Warhawk Air Museum, in Nampa, ID. They have a marvelous and amazing collection of books and a huge number of journals written by pilots, which you can sit down and read through. Their collection includes flyable P-40N, P-40E, and P-51C.
I came across it on our drive from Washington State to Tennessee and had to stop. Totally worth it. Had to get a picture of it to text to AKWarHwk.
