The Thrustmaster TM16000 setup

After 14 years on the shelf my old stick setup had had it.

I purchased the TM setup because of price, and the reviews were decent.

I like the stick and throttle. My old pedals were still good so no twisty..

I find the stick base buttons and slider worthless. Can't use them when flying. So the two large buttons are damage and tail hook.

Why on earth there is no pinky button is beyond me.

The throttle is a little better. And I don't use most of them either. Throttle and side wheel are throttle and  pitch. Is there a way to link throttle and  pitch to one slider ?

Top 4way is front angle, back level.

Both middle 4ways are set up identical, because determining which is which in a fight escapes me.

Back combat trim, forward look up.

Front buttons are flaps, talk and wep. Also have wep on the thumb button on the stick.

No matter what I do in calibrating the sticks, it tends to fall out of wep intermittently to the point I have to hold the pinky button down not to fall out. And it still does..

Any ideas. Makes the Yak my plane because of iffy wep during a fight.

When you calibrate the throttle try to not go to the stop for 100% throttle, you might be coming off wep because the game does not see 100% throttle. This method will ensure when you are to the 100% stop the game will see 100%.

When you calibrate the throttle you can see the full throttle range on the advanced tab. Also check for any scaling, deadband or damping you don't need on your throttle.

You'll also see any spiking.

Check if your stick is suffering from unwanted input from the Z-axis. This has been a problem on 2 of the 3 T16000M's I've owned in the last 8 years. Only the first one seemed immune. I even cannibalized the sensor from the first one to repair the others.

I have the same setup. You get used to it.


In DCS you need 5 hat switches for the A-10 as in real life, 5 hat switches for the F-18, and 4 hat switches for the AH-64.

Depends on the person really. When we were kids, we remembered everyone's phone number now that we all have cell phones there's no need for that, so we use the memory storage for hat switches in air simulation games. :D

The one button is radio next one is the up view

One hat is map on/off, zoom in/out

Rotor is aileron trim

Bottom button is gear

Up on the gray switch is check six,  other way is damage

Let me know if you find a decent use for the rocker in the front

Eagler...I use the rocker for radio transmit. Left for tuned channel and right for range.

I'd be interested to hear what others may be using it for.

If you fly the P-38 elevator trim is all you need.   :aok 

I have a 3 axis Saitek throttle I use for trim controls but it's basically just adding work.
