It's the clouds, don't go through the thick clouds. Was an issue in FSO a few times.

Yeah, that kind of sucked for me and and a few others as we ran a B17 strat run. First chance I had to try the map out with a classic bomb run at 25K, and the icon issue popped up. Made it much harder for the old eyes to scrutinize the laptop screen and spot baddies (I lack a secondary monitor due to travel). Impressive map & clouds, though..

Would like to do more normal runs like that if the bug would go away, or it may be that the clouds, as cool as they are, may have to be thinned a bit.

YES! Was an issue in Monday Night Madness as well..pretty sure it was the 'FOG' was the culprit?!!!   Go above Alt Limit?????  OOPPSSSYYY! Eh..down dratfs?  "Jeager Icons dont show?"              "Did you fly, through that Cloud Layer? "              It seems to have been fixed? Havent been there for a while. I lost My "Bait", ULBlizz and Her Pink Spit TOO.  Last time I partook..........Non-Issue! I play DCS and IL-2...ZERO ICONS. Is what it is...the Immersion, IMHO makes up for any SA Fails!  Aces High=BEST ADAPTATION To VR....HANDS DOWN. This new Map..has its glitches...BUT..............K enia and Obe?...   AWESOME MAP. IMHO...This Tour, has the most Action, far as I can see! Murderous Spawn Camping, GV FIGHTS, PLUS me and my 3 bombs on SpitXVI...FEED ME!!!   :rofl :airplane:

Boy its great to hear people appreciate the new map!   Thank you!   Kenai deserves the credit, it's all due to his hard work and map-making skill.

As fas as the disappearing icons - are you guys saying that going through dense clouds changes your icon setting to "No Icons" somehow?  And you can get them back by cycling through the icon settings?   Or, does it seem like your icons no longer show at all, no matter what you do, short of relogging?

I can't imagine why clouds would mess with icon settings, but if you've seen it before in some maps in FSO, I guess it's a known bug?

They stay off even after cycling through the modes and going to normal icons

I get my icons back landing and towering out. When FSO had the problem they weren’t coming back at all.

For me it happens after an hour or so playing, most of the time when there is larger number player in the same area. Seems to happen regardless Cloud density or altitude. Affect friendlies and foes in the air and friendly GV icons. Cycling icon is no help, only re-logging seems to fix it.

I had seen this problem in the past:

It appears to be prevalent with certain cloud types.

If it's the same problem that's been experienced in a couple of FSO's then it's caused by a buggy cloud file.

You need to find a known good cloud file or just eliminate the clouds all together.
