Thanks to Lyric1 for finding me the reference photos of this scheme which was requested by Kassill and which Cactuskooler skinned on the old shape P-38J.

This shark-mouthed P-38J named "Joanie" was part of the 82nd Fighter Group's 95th Fighter Squadron. The 82nd was based in Italy from late 1943 and their P-38s undertook escort, sweep and ground attack missions over Italy and Southern Germany up until the end of the war.

Already having a large part of the scheme from "Gotterdamerung", the 95th FS P-38L skin I did, sped things up a bit.
