This is the best yet but there is still way too much time before we get to any action. Instead of just introducing 20 planes, show a few like you have and then show a quick 1-2 seconds of those planes being blown up or shooting something. Then back to the peaceful flying and then boom back again. Maybe even flash in one of your text cards here and there. !TWO WEEKS FREE NO CC! Even rhymes.

I’m going to stick by my time guns. 10 minutes is an infomercial not a commercial. But I’m not making them you are. They pretty nice no matter what we all think.

It's obvious he did listen to criticisms and made a lot of edits like taking out the engine startup scene.

I thought this version was entertaining and glad it was shorter and too the point. Lots of different clips and action of all sorts for both axis and allied planes so I thought it was pretty cool all around, the music definitely adds that intensity of the game.

Thank you for making this, Animal, I enjoyed watching.  Exciting music, plenty of external shots - reminds me of some of the ones Niro and LePape made back in the day?   Agree with Dad its your best version yet.

I especially thought the large B-24 formations were impressive, and this is something that sets Aces High apart from DCS and IL-2 Great Battles - being able to fly a heavy bomber into battle.   I really like the shots with views out of the cockpit, looking at the other planes in formation, and external views of wingmen flying together.  To me it shows AH players are teams working together -  not just flying around everyman for himself.   Good too, that it combines soundtrack music WITH engine sounds. 



I hope you keep making films.  And if you need some other pilots' help as extras in filming, I'd be happy to help out.  I always thought there should be a dedicated film group in Aces High - seems like they have always been mostly single-player efforts.

I will never say this is the best video in existence. In life there is always greater and lessor, it's ok to be humble.

It was NEVER EVER designed to be a flash commercial of all kill shots. Its done to show off the graphics, terrain, and most of all the clarity of our skins. Give them time to see them. that's what those slow scenes are for. Stalling for the big faster shots is the art of the biz. Never give them what they want when they want it, never make it predictable.

The one track train of nothing but kill shots has long gone and a worn out concept. Those vids do not even get views anymore. I have been watching >30< minute movies of other sims and they are getting between 600k and 1.4M views in less then a year. Years ago on YT shorter videos were the thing because of limitations. Today (I've researched this) longer videos ARE the thing. Its time to grow out of the box and old concepts. As matter of fact, the only dip in the movie views IS THE INSTANT KILLS, read that again. I refused to remove it because I think it ramps up the pace,.. all movies, concerts, songs, plays,... should have a finale, a build up.

I am not going to retouch this video, nor cut it down. Those that just want a 5 minute commercial video I'm not doing those, they can do those.

Because when he asks for feedback, he doesn't really want feedback.  He wants you to kneel and kiss his ring and tell him how brilliant he is. 

He's big in the "biz" after-all.  A very important individual.

No offense intended, but I don't think I ever worded it that way. I started out with a 7-8 minute limit, but found it just wasn't enough time to show what I wanted to. I ended up with 18 min, and have been sawing it down for 2 weeks now to find that honey spot. I don't know if I hit it, that's up to the beholder.

Imagine mixing a concert for 5k-30k people. We all hear differently, that's a fact (females hear better then males, they hear what you say), we all might want to hear the mix differently. The goal is to not make it great for a few, but if we end up making it pleasant for all, we're happy with our mix. The best sound I ever heard in all my years, was a show I worked, but did not mix,..that probably was great for everyone was David Gilmour from Pink Floyd. The mix and sound is just stunning, The FOH guy was outstanding. But it's not easy to please all, that's why some of us get the big bucks..The second you lose that niche, you're done. Its that abrupt. You'll be working at Home Depot next week.

Off topic a bit but I went to a Metallica stadium show last summer and it was the best sounding outdoor concert I’ve ever heard. (Highland Stadium/Bills) It was so crisp and clean and you could hear and feel each instrument. Plus coupled with the lights and pyros it just worked. They have some pro shot clips on their you tube page.

Was my sixth Metallica show but I’ve been to 100s of concerts. I worked for Budweiser in the 90’s while in college and my job was to go to concerts/bars and buy people beer so they would buy more Budweiser. Spent more than I ever made lol.
