Who built this cross between a Vought F4U, Hawker Tempest, and a Stuka?

Hint:  I'm lead to understand this was the first aircraft of WWII to be fitted with a full on tear-drop style bubble canopy.

I swear, the Spitfire must have been a complete accident because the Brits always seem to make ugly airplanes.
