BnZ/E retention training request
« on: August 12, 2023, 03:37:11 PM »
Hello all,
As indicated on the title, looking for some help on BnZ/e retention. Been more comfortable with furballing and ew/mw rides for maneuverability, but looking to expand. Game for anything but types I am especially interested in learning better are early P-47,P-51, P-38,F4U, P-40's.
Am available most nights ~ 8 CST onwards.
Thanks,
Travis (TCH in-game)

Hi Travis,

I would be happy to work on E fighting with you.

I'm West Coast, 8 CST is a little early for me, after 9 CST would work better. Any night except Tuesday, or Friday.

Thanks, Sik!
9 sounds great. Will be on for a bit tonight- if that doesn't work, how about tomorrow or Monday!

Just a brief note on energy. We deal with two forms of energy in the retention discussion. Altitude and speed.

It's good to have the form of energy you wish to retain in mind.

If you wish to retain speed don't turn too hard or climb.

If you wish to regain altitude don't get too low or too slow.

Reducing wing loading to 0G reduces drag.

A loose analogy: Think of energy like money.

Altitude=Money in the bank

Speed=Money in your wallet.

Climb=making a deposit

Dive=stuffing your wallet full of cash from an ATM

Maneuvering=spending money...the harder the move, the more cash you're blowing through.

Or if you're physics inclined

Altitude=potential energy

Speed=Kinetic energy

These are very loose analogies and I'm sure someone will tell you why they're not exact, but I've found them useful.
