It rained much more over the winter. This was an overblown nothing. It didn't even rain hard.

I liked the picture of the firetruck wading through 2 inches of water though.

Deserts have flash floods. It's nothing.

Pictures of desert washes that always get water when it rains. It's absolutely nothing.

Palms Springs gets about 4" yearly. It got ~ 1/2 of that in less than 6 hours.

Palm Springs has had 4 days with more rain before. Doesn't happen often, but it's not unprecedented.

Every weather system is now catastrophic...and are usually named by our now weather channel experts...

They run the fear of crying wolf except for the real storms like Ian where their guess at landfall was just another guess..

I would literally take human life for some of that rain here in central Texas.

I can always put on more clothes in winter.  There is only so much I can take off in summer without getting arrested.  And it's been years since I've been arrested from running around nekid.

I am informed. I live here and I see the hype on our local news. They love to inflate everything and the lemmings don't know any better.

Everything is "unprecedented". It's a joke.

El Nino. Look it up. That's what causes stuff like this and it's been happening forever. It's cyclic.

In California we have:

Droughts, Fires, Rain, Mudslides and then all over again. ALWAYS.

We also had a 5.1 earthquake yesterday. Those happen about once every two years.

Life is easier when created by imagination that avoids research.

No matter your stance, both can be right at the same time. Some only think on the surface.
