Excuse my spelling, German isn't even a desire of mine. Are you referring to the:

"Pos auf, du haft ein ingenicht!" sound byte?

I am sure I have it then. When I moved to USB controls I couldn't immediately figure out how to get my controls configured for EAW and quit playing, but I have it.

Now, where do I find it, how do I extract it, and which format do you prefer?  :)

I am not a total dweeb, but a quick check of the directory did not reveal that byte to me.

Okay, this is supposed to be in MeatWater Sound pack v. 2.0, but it is no longer on my HD. I will DL it tonight at bedtime, as it is 17Megs. Thought I had it, but noooo!...

Funny, I've been running this particular sound byte through my head for months!  :)

I now believe this sound byte was released in a followup file to the general 'sound.cdf' file. I think this is a way to encapsulate several sound bytes into a general file, much like a '.dll' file or '.pak' file. Extracting this byte without exact knowledge might prove bothersome, so I went out on a limb and contacted Meatwater on it.

I will continue to search out a file, or method, to accomplish this, but for now we will have to wait, or hope that someone in AH has the ability to extract it for us.

Converting it for AH use will be a no brainer, but I haven't any experience with hacking EAW in this way. Though, I know it is just a matter of knowing which '.cdf' file to use, and which address to start and end upon. Even Ultra Edit could do it, but knowing where to start, "Aye, there's the rub!"

A work of interest!  ;) No need to thank me.

I found Paulo Morais' Utility to extract this stuff, so it's just a matter of time, now.  :)

Here it is:

Paß auf - Du hast einen im Genick

This is from the original Speech3.cdf included with EAW. There are five German voices to choose from and I think I took the fifth one. Ge5_132.snd to be precise.

Enjoy!

As an aside, to anyone that comes along late here. Grunherz approached me in the arena and told me the sound was not working on his machine. It had been a day or two since I posted it, so I had forgotten that I named the file Check 6.wav, instead of check6.wav. I will correct that now (and you will see the fact that I edited the above link).
