Setting aileron or elevator trim
« on: October 01, 2023, 11:27:44 AM »
The Z axis on my Gladiator NXT EVO has a range value of 0 - 65535. I've assigned it to both aileron and elevator trim. Nothing appears to happen when I increase the input values. Help appreciated. Any Gladiator Space Combat grip tweaks also appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you calibrated it in AH setting a middle?

I have to do that for the tm1600 rotor I use for trim

Is the z axis a twist function on the stick? If so, I'm not sure that would work very well for a trim function as it would want to re-center when you released pressure from the grip. Even if it's not a twist function make sure you calibrate it in AH as Eagler has mentioned.

It's an up/down lever. I'll try Eagler's suggestion and let you know how that works.

Am I correct in assuming I'd need to shut of combat trim to take advantage of the elevator trim?

Manual analog trim works when Combat Trim and Auto-pilot modes are off.

When I trum the rotor on the throttle I go all the way one direction then all the way the opposite direction then spin it to about the middle and click calibrate..

That middle will be around neutral when CT is off

Check in AH calibration to make sure it sees it as a rotor

I mash that manual trim on and off a bunch in a good t&b
