With a suppressor it removes the initial bang, and if you are using supersonic ammo you still get the crack as it flies. Then you hear the the impact noise.

From what I've seen it sounded like a bang, no crack, then you could hear the impacts. So I agree with knorb, maybe a 22.

The subsequent rounds weren't, somebody dumped the shooter with either a 556 rifle with a can or a handgun without one with a pretty rapid string of shots.  Then there was one single shot and a bunch of women screaming, so a guess would be the shooter still hand his hand on the weapon or some such after getting smoke checked initially, and then got a bonus ball.

I'd say handgun, a 5.56 it's going to have a decent supersonic report. it's hard to tell really off such low video quality. Everyone over here runs suppressors.

I work around SS several times per yr. A little surprised it took 10+ secs for the long gun to take down-stage area. There are several snipers, this guy probably didn't get a 3rd breath. The stuff in those SUVs is mind blowing.

In the old days/90s, there used to be a cpl guys in trench coats, loaded with uzi type weapons, when stuff like this happens they run to him he opens up the coat and everyone grabs one. I haven't seen that in decades.

This is going to prolly start something big. There will be like-wise retaliation.

I know in your area everyone runs cans.  The Secret Service counter assault team as well as the L.E. I saw all had cans on their 556 rifles in the video so far.  Apparently the shooter was on the reverse slope of a building's roof nearby, and a witness said the Secret Service smoked him in the head.  Audio from TV makes it impossible to tell, you're right, but based on the weapons present, as I said, either a 556/can or 9mm, or both.
