CH Pedals
« on: August 07, 2024, 09:49:18 PM »
last night i was setting up everything and had no issues with the CH PEdals. Tonight when i came in to set the stick up Aces didnt see my Pedals neither did by PC, I using a power Hub connected into my PC but still does not see them and I even rebooted and all. When I played before I had the same issues but after a reboot and relog in they showed. I also have a Twisty stick that I cant seem to get the rudder motion synced,,,, I must be doing something wrong but after a 7 yr break it shouldednt be that different with the controls

Thank you in advance

Unplug the pedals, you should hear the windows sound played for disconnecting a USB connection. Plugging them back in should also play a sound. If your not getting those sound markers the computer cant find/see the pedals. Try a different USB port. Pedals draw less power so they dont need a powered port.

As for the twisty stick, be sure the twist "Z" axis??? (twist axis) is not mapped to an axis that may be having a conflict with the pedals.

Just as a heads up you can actually disable and even change the connect/disconnect sound.

If you want to just enable/disable USB sounds, either:

Right click on the volume icon in tray and select Sounds

or:

go to Settings -> Personalization -> Themes -> Sounds -> Sounds

Then in Program Events enable/disable "Device Connect" "Device Disconnect" sounds by selecting a sound or "None" for them in the dropdown.

You may consider disable automatic USB disconnects in Windows

Navigate to the Power and Sleep settings window (from either the Control Panel or from Windows Search)
Choose Additional Power Settings
Click Change Power Plan Settings
Click Change power settings on the selected power plan of your choice
Choose change advanced power settings
From the pop-up window, expand the USB Settings option
Expand the USB Selective Suspend settings
Select Disabled from the drop-down menu and select OK

This is probably dumb but I'm probably dumb enough to let this happen to me.....make sure you aren't trying to map both the pedals AND the twist of the stick to the Z axis in game. That may cause a cancelling out for one of the devices. Heck, I think it even caused a solar eclipse in my neck of the woods a few months back! Another big thing for me is remembering to hit "save" or "apply" after setting a button or an axis.

Anyhow, I hope you get it sorted.

I am even worse off now only thing my pc sees is my throttle last night i had both throttle and stick showing the night before I had everything showing, When i first started to map my controllers I started with Pedals first, then throttle , mapped the stick last night, when i went came on tonight i logged in both the game and pc only saw the throttle, , I unplugged everything from the power usb , I heard the bells and all even rebooted my pc still just the throttle only, When I owned my Old CH Pedals i had to relog a few times for the pc to see them and the game, but this pc is alot better then what i had 15 years ago. hopefully this works , I ran a dx report to see if I missing something.
this was with the throttle , stick and pedals uninstalled, i thought the power usb hub would work for me since i do not have that many usb ports available.

Is it a new powered hub or old powered hub?

Do you have enough USB ports to plug all the controllers in with out the hub?

Id plug in as many controllers in to USB ports as you can. Check them in Windows and the game, even run a reboot to see if they stay. Even if you do this one at a time it could narrow down a bad controller, or bad port. Also, the hub ....if it is old may be dying in which case you'd have these issues.

Its going to be a process of elimination, does the stick work on a USB port vs the hub and so on.

From your DxDiag output I noticed that you have your Nvidia sound enabled as well as Corsair earphones. If you don't listen any sounds through your monitor speakers (or is it actually a TV), disable the Nvidia HD Sound in the Device Manager and uninstall the driver for it. Then again if you like to watch vids listening to speakers rather than headphones you can leave them. Anyhow that's been known to cause issues at least in the past.

Regarding reboots, you know the difference between choosing 'Restart' in the power menu instead of 'Shutdown' following starting by pressing the power button, don't you? 'Restart' should start from fresh while Shutdown will save the current settings. There's another way to start from fresh, just keep the Shift button pressed while clicking Shutdown. That will shut the computer down in the good old way, wiping everything clean for the next startup. Basically the same as Restart but you never know if the two methods really work similarly. Easy enough to try.

You may also want to try cleaning your Device Manager: Open it and from the View menu choose Show hidden devices. You'll find a bunch of greyed devices there. They're the ones that aren't currently attached or powered, often USB devices that you've plugged into another port. And basically all of them can be safely removed. They'll return on the list when you plug them in the next time.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

Fugi it’s an old powered usb hub but when I connect them to it I hear the sounds it get an unknown usb connection when that happens. I was always an Amd system type of guy and never had problems like this before I got this system 4 years ago and it’s my first intel crap. I even unplugged the power side of the hub to try and just use it as extra usb ports. My system only has 4 ports in the back and 2 up top and I have tried them all.

Yes I have a tv as a monitor and I never do a complete shutdown always the restart option but I did do a shutdown and booted back up to see if that helped. I will try again when I wake up sometime today was looking at usb hubs for extra ports that are relatively cheap and not powered ones but what baffles me my stick showed but now it doesn’t.

Ah so you're using a non-powered hub? That might be your problem right there.

To ensure your devices aren't actually dead, try plugging them in one at a time to a port directly on the mobo and see if the PC picks them up. If it does, that's good! Shows the device is operating. If not, it might be dead or at damaged in some way. But if your stuff gets picked up directly by the PC, then it shows you need a different, preferably powered usb hub. There's a bunch of them on Amazon and not too expensive.

I will figure this out . I know I will but the power hub I have still lights up and all stuff works but the pc for some reason doesn’t show the extra equipment so I must be doing something wrong with my Polish brain.

open windows game controller window and plug them in one at a time

you should see windows recognize each one

then calibrate them there first
