how to get to the right settings page for edge?

I've asked this question before yet I'm still having the same problem with my internet setting. This is in any sort of browser too. Chrome, edge or anything!

I need to find where you can select the option for opening new links in same tab?

By a quick view it seems that the instructions provided work for some and not for others. It may be because of the version of Edge used or inability to follow the instructions.

Doing quite a bit of research on this issue I have been seeing that this problem might be solvable and that many may have to live with this when using Ebay and a few other websites.

To clarify for a non-native, do you mean that the existing content on a page should be changed to the new content? IIRC back in the days of yore Internet Explorer had the option to choose from "open links in the (currently) open window" and "---in a new window". Tabs weren't invented yet. But yes, do you mean similar to "in the open window"?

As the first post in my previous link said the problem is most likely unsolvable.

But I found this add-on for Chrome: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/link-in-current-tab/cbkcdebbfbegnmbephalggnchfebihbl. There's only 289 users for it which normally would ring an alarm bell but as we're talking about an issue that only a handful of people are suffering from I'm tempted to believe that it's safe. And hoping that Google has double checked it for any malware.
