Another winter Sherman
« on: August 30, 2024, 03:02:37 AM »
Thought I might as well complete the set of winter Shermans. Thank you to Lyric1 for finding some of the info for this skin.

This Sherman was a 105mm howitzer-equipped variant, one of three assigned to the HQ company of the 6th Armored Division's 15th Tank Battalion in the winter of 1944/45. At this time the division was heavily engaged advancing from the south to relieve the besieged town of Bastogne. Like all 6th Armored Division tanks this one had a large tank number painted on the side of its hull, numbers 1-16 being the HQ company. The 15th Battalion's wolf's head logo was painted in a white square just to the rear of that and these markings were just visible through the coat of whitewash the tank had been given.
