« on: September 23, 2024, 03:48:38 PM »
hey guys....the original Alpha81 here, couldn't get my old callsign back. Have Oculus VR set a bunch of mapping for all my controls as well as key strokes...then inexplicably all mapping is gone...I hear a notification chime of some sort (i thought it was discord, but thats not open) so I hear the chime and all of my mapping is gone...any clues????

Following.  Was going through this with Alpha81 last night and same thing happened to me.  Had everything mapped and working between Wednesday and Friday last week.  Got on Sunday night and flew around a bit.  Started helping Alpha map his stuff and my stuff disappeared as it was also happening to him.  I’m here to see responses.  Hopefully.

Not sure why it would clear other than if you were in a different stick mode that you hadnt mapped.....IE bomber gunner mode, Fighter mode and so on.

An easy fix is to copy your controller files from the settings folder to the desktop. Rename them by adding a VR_ in front of each, safe them and drop them back into the settings folder saying yes to the popup "do you want to replace...."

This will give you the same controller settings as the regular 2D version of the game. Once you have a good setup for your controllers make a copy of the VR_ files for your controllers and keep them someplace you can find them so if it happens again, you have a quick replacement setup.

I think I may have solved this…there is an option to set your control map keys from the main menu rather then once you’re loaded into the game…I did this and it seems to be working although I lost the ability to use my rudders in the game but when I checked the control interface I could see they were still assigned and the values changed when I kinked them back and forth…

Rudder issue happened to me, just the other day.   Checked 'AXIS' in controls page.  Yep, sliders are moving.   "Calibrate Axis", didn't work.  I towered and calibrated again.... reupped and working.  I know Thrustmaster 1600 and T.Flight stuff has issues like what you are describing. First time for me in Warthog?  Its tedious...but MAKE SURE that you hit that "save/OK" after each binding.  Might even try one binding...Save/Ok and exit...for each mapping? IIR, this is how I got my Niece's T.1600 to not lose mapping.    Also, as fugi told you...save your settings in another folder

Interesting!  I never saw that "Control" option on Startup screen before now?  Maybe a new addition?  Hard to believe I would have missed that  :rofl
