It's very odd. I noticed the same thing as Snailman. I'm wondering if some sorta data collection from AI? Only thing I can think.

I have to say I agree with the lot of this. Especially the bold.

I can't associate things like Snailman can,.....but game play has a lot to do with number count. Critical mass for the MA is 100-120. Anything below that isn't going to be played the same as above it. I notices changes once passing 130.

Critical mass - a size, number, or amount large enough to produce a particular result. the critical mass of activity needed for a retail store.

Many of the things complained about are due to numbers below CM. That's the pattern. Numbers will have an - & + effect. This is why I say get the numbers up instead of complaining. By complaining you literally talk people out of playing. It has a very contagious effect....dominoes. It actually works against your own concerns. If you had 200 in the arena, which we saw during MotA week,...the game went the right direction. Not trying to be a jerk,.... just sayin.

There has always been and will always be dweebs, and those who say everything is wrong.

Sell the game like yall did during MotA. Ya gained 60 players above the average. When you quit the replacements died off.

Yes we had a nice little uptick goin into March...

The good news is that a new special event is here starting this weekend, that Brooke is hosting!

Should be real fun and I hope brings some #s back to the MA.  :airplane:

My only issue is large maps not generating battles during off hours which leads to players getting ganged when there is no defense. One regular guy defending a field of 4 190Ds is pretty tough... maps that generate battles in the off hours lead to higher #s throughout the day and Primetime and later into the night.

Well, The numbers grew because several players went out and sold it outside the bubble. It not going to sell here on the bbs.

Most that play, even the doomsayers, do because it's nostalgic and basically one of a kind. Even with the old graphics, as long as the numbers decent, the fun still exist. Players spend many years here, and many in their teens and like that nostalgic return.

I absolutely repute the $15 thing. Said this every time it comes up. if ya can't afford $15 maybe you shouldn't be investing in any game. Others have their own POV. I don't mean it as an insult. It's kinda common logic. Again, the whining talks people out of it. "This sucks, this sucks, this sucks,.. ya wanna buy it?"

ANYWAY, IMO, numbers is the answer. That's where the work is needed. Ya got results last time.

I will not be advertising like I did last time unfortunately. It did not bear the fruit I had hoped and I got tired of defending the subscription and outdated things.

For me and most people it’s not about affording $15, its about the value you get for and that’s totally subjective to the person.
Back in 2022 after a loooooong break from 2010. Old name Ratpack, same for the BBS.

Squad I did the most tours with were the Excaliburs then The 172nd Rabid Dogs. Still trying to talk Illigaf, Coola, Oldman22, and Joecrow into coming back instead of being boring old farts!

I do that, for various reasons. I also read without loggin in. I know When GE visits its usually in a very old thread about AWers. But I’ll take your word for it. I don’t thinks its 100% tho.

Owell, I made a soft point

Of course it's not 100%, but likely something like 98%+.

$14.99 is becoming a bit harder to justify.

Dear Boomers… please do not lecture me about other things that are the same price blah blah happy meals blah blah. It’s about the value proposition of the $15 not its affordability. These two things are not mutually exclusive.

This is the worst I've ever noticed it being at this time of the day.  This is what leads to a lot of quiet quitting.

On top of the usual swarming by bish, you have knits hitting rooks too.

May as well just go to one side vs toolsheds.

How many Bish were not in the tower though?  That screenshot doesn't tell the whole story.  Eh...I get it. That is why I don't play in this time of day. Pretty sure the players that hate this time of day, have already quit? No need to pound the "This Game Is Dead Drum" for this?  Give it a few hours and the Bish and/or the Knits will be whining just as much. Just depends on who is in game at what time.

The difference is everyone is paying 10 for a coffee,  it what is expected.  On the other hand 15 a month for a game, even a top tier game is rare. Games are either bought outright or in game purchases.

I still think a limited number of planes free all the time in the MA would help with numbers and the only in game purchase would would be the subscription.

Well, its not like we’re not getting a product for 15.

I think it focuses on the wrong problem. Many former players don’t even know the game is still running. Even if the game was updated, would anyone outside the bubble know it to come back?

In 4 mos, 1070 views of MotA vid. Where are these people? Well, when you see a vid, snd some get interested again, then come read the bbs complaints and the YKW drama, they prolly say “never mind”.

First thing I did when I got interested was visit the bbs and see if anyone I knew is still here. I saw 5-6 others and said “I’m in”. The bbs MATTERS. If I did it, you can bet others do too.

People complain here thinking other would be players don’t read it. Thats nonsense. Its a complete oxymoron. Like I said, “ this sucks, that sucks, this sucks,…wanna buy it?” This is equivalent of failing to sell water to someone stranded in a desert. This is not selling, its telling people to not bother, then complaining about numbers. These are repeat complaints.

Beside a cpl negative post, the bbs and 200 has calmed down a lot. This is when you sell the game and draw players back in. Ya don’t draw people back into a dumpster fire. Seems like some want to do the work draggin them in while they complain in open air about things that won’t change without an update. Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Whining thinking they will bully HT into updating. He’s alone, he can only do so much.

Finetime sent a computer to a friend who flys under Finetime and needs a lot of help learning the game. That is going above and beyond.

The answer is players need to remind others outside the bubble the game is still running. Numbers will solve most of these problems.  Focus on the answer, not everything but.

Why was my credibility attacked? Because they didn’t want to see it progress, they wanted to be right about it dying so others would play their game. CptTrips running a 127 page DCS sakes thread hurt us, and he knows it, and doesn’t care. Thinking it was ok hurt us. YKW hurt us. Its time to pick up the pieces and return to where we left off, reminding people we are still here. We pulled players in and CptTrips and his dogs sucked our efforts out the back door. Thats what low lives do. Turns out they sold s game here where the AC can no linger be supported nor uodated.

Get back to advertising and stop sniveling.

Way to not read the whole post. What crowd am I in exactly? I’m 51 and don’t pay $10 for a cup of anything.

It’s not about “affordability” it’s about “perceived value” which is subjective to the user. Maybe you might want to go look up those words in your dictionary.

Exactly, we perceive it as well worth it. 3 hours of dogfights is worth it to me. One scenario is worth it to me. Spending good times with virtual friends doing it together is worth it to me. I can eat the most unhealthy Happy Meal in 7 minutes. We have our own perception too.

I didn't see anyone attacking you for your opinion. And we are not obligated to agree. You do you.

There must be something to it being worth it.

Everyone I the world wants everything to be free. Unfortunately their are operation costs, and if there is no profit, why stay open?

If you have to justify a perceived value for $15 these days you have bigger issues imo

It's not the amount it's more a monthly subscription hangover that turns them off, then the graphics and then the games difficulty

HT should have an annual cost of $70 to lure those types in..less than half the monthly sub cost or the same as a plane or campaign in one of the other ww2 sims..

If my guess is correct most of those won't be around in 3 months and he is way ahead..

I still think a limited number of planes free all the time in the MA would help with numbers and the only in game purchase would would be the subscription.

I don’t pay $10 for coffee and wouldn’t anywhere ever. Who’s everyone in this example? Circle K and QT are less than $2 for 24oz. McDonald’s, which actually has pretty dang good coffee I believe is still $2 or less too.

I agree with the limited plane set F2P idea to draw new eyes on the game and see the whole picture without having to commit to anything. The 2-weeks free should be doing that though… The way most F2P games work is by subsidizing through advertising and that’s got to be a challenge about how much before you drive players off. E.g. if any podcast I’m interested has 3 commercials in a row on breaks, I’m done unless I can fast-forward through them, some YT p-casts you’re forced to listen to some woke bs commercials, no fast forward allowed…

Anyhow, I’d not mind seeing advertising in AH, I’m used to it everywhere else. I may be in the minority in that regard however but then HTC becomes reliant on them instead of us. Ugly double edge there.

Lord of the Rings Online currently has it balanced about as perfect as it gets atm. There’s zero advertising and 75% of the game is F2P, but apples to oranges there.
They're casting their bait over there, see?
