Just wondering how many countries it actually takes to be called a world war..

It looks to me that we have enough now but what do I know..

I don't know.  I've been working on a resume for my new career path in life which has taken up much of my time lately.  Thankfully there is a lot of helpful literature to be found online.

Does it?

I thought it meant you had a good chunk of the planet trying to kill another chunk of the planet...

Pretty sure we have that now..

The weapons used is secondary with the belief such war would escalate to nukes but I don't think that is a requirement as we have had to of them without them, except for the ending of the 2nd half of the second one..

We are advanced enough to kill each other with new and deadlier weapons like never before without nukes

What a difference 4 years made..

Just to address the slightly loaded-question of the OP, why wouldn't there be war? World wars, cold wars, wars by proxy, war on drugs, wars against ideologies won by employing the other faction's ideologies, wars against people who open their boiled eggs at the pointy-end. Between 1945 and some date in the late 1980s (stopped bothering to check after that) there had been precisely one week of peace in the world. The human world is always at war. At war with itself. At war by default simply looking for something to attach to...

So it's just another day of global warfare?

Ok I feel much better now lol

How about global conflicts from say 2016 to 2020 compared to 2021 to 2024?

More happening today than is healthy imo..with more coming sadly

Of course "World War" is a relatively new term and no "official" parameters. It has been applied to two wars in which the world's major powers were going all in at each other. You'll know when we're there.
