Hang,
I have two cats, or they have me...
I can't imagine right now loosing one of my buds.
It is a loss to you and I feel a loss of a citizen of this comunity though I never had the pleasure of meeting her.
May she rest in peace. My sincerest condolances Hang.

Hangtime;

Haven't had the pleasure of "meeting" you and hadn't heard tales of Hairball 'til today... Sorry I missed you and the tales of what was obviously an outstanding cat!

Its' funny that a little critter can get so deep into your heart...

We got a kitten for our kids (11&13) this Christmas... they love her- and so do we!!! We had cats for years. It is good to have one again.

This evening the cat hissed at my son (its' 95 degrees and we don't have A/C-do ya blame her?). My son was truly hurt... like I say its' funny how they become a REAL FAMILY member!!

Take care...

Damned Augie

Ouch Hang, that sucks  :( really sorry to hear about your loss.

I hope you feel all right...I know that you will say that you'd rather get a shark bite than it, but I'd suggest you to get a new cat... just to fill the space Hairball has just left empty in your life.

<S> Hairball...

Actually, Ram has a good point.  Getting a new pet will help fill that empty space.  I know after we had my dog put to sleep (I was 20 at the time, and I still cried like a little girl), it felt really wierd around the house.  I ended up convincing my parents to let me take a friends dog (he was 4, now he is 7) who had bitten a child (the previous owner did day care) that followed him into his kennel.  I was very close to this dog as well, since I was a friend of the family and had been playing with the dog since they had first gotten him.  They either had to get rid of him or put him to sleep, and I wasn't going to let him be put to sleep ;-).  I actually think it will help you get over your loss a lot more quickly if you get a new pet, but it really is your decision to make.

I can't stand critters. I hate almost anything that walks on 4 legs and has more fur than I do. That's why my wife and I have a dog, 2 ferrets, 2 cats and are looking fer a dog fer our dog.

Hang, Hairball mises you too and will keep you in mind just as you think of him. He's just in another place and kickin back. He ain't gone as long as you remember him.

<S> Hairball and <S> Hangtime.

S!

I've got a big male.  He's fixed, but that doesn't stop him from kicking the toejam out of all the Tomcats in the neighbourhood.  I think he was castrated late and he's pissed at losing his berries.  (I adopted him at 2 years)  One good thing, at least he doesn't spray, anyway not inside.  His territoriality got him in trouble last year.  He got into a fight with a raccoon.  By the time I got outside he was a mess.  Although there was no sign of the Raccoon and there were clumps of brown and black fur in the back yard where the fight was.  He almost died that night, but after two weeks and $700 worth of Vet bills, he was almost back to normal.  Lots of scars though.  At least he didn't lose an eye.

For a while after that I kept him inside, but after getting woken up 3 times a night by him sitting next to my face and yowling, I broke down and let him back out again.  I guess he will be happier determining his own fate.

When he crawls up into my lap and starts up that rattle trap purr, I almost think it's worth it.    ;)

Hangtime:

sorry to hear about your loss.   :(

but always remember the good times,

Like when hairball made a bunmch of nose in the bathroom that sent you flying to see what it was and you knocked your monitor on the floor with the tower as well.

Salute Hairball.

I'm sorry Hangtime ... I lost a beloved cat after 14 years in Aug 1998 .. she was my friend .. and I still miss her, burried her out back and planted a plant .. every time the plant flowers, I think of her.

I have new cat now but I forget sometimes and call her by the wrong name.  The new cat is wonderful and a friend, so I have been blessed twice.
