« on: January 05, 2025, 01:54:59 PM »
P-40E of 191 IAP in summer of 1943. Pilot unknown. This aircraft was delivered in 1942 with a factory paint scheme using DuPont colors approximate to the RAF Temperate Land Scheme, but no RAF markings were applied. Soviet red stars in the 1943 standard are seen in 8 places. White rudders and spinner tips were used by 191 IAP for IFF purposes. The black painted aft spinner section on this aircraft was commonly used by this regiment, but not standard. 191 IAP was awarded the Order of the Red Banner in 1944 for it's exemplary performance with it's P-40's in the Leningrad region.
