Just curious.

What video card do you have?

Are you using a fresh download of the game?

Just wondering if a DxDiag output of the first third would help figuring out anything...

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

This is a link to my DX page.

Not sure DX diag works the same in Win11.
You can try flushing your DirectX Shader Cache just to eliminate other issues.

I might try uninstalling the game, using the AH uninstaller, rebooting and then downloading again. I can not think of anything else to try.

There's always a possibility a file can becomes corrupted during a transfer.  It's rare but possible.

There is a video cfg file that I think is created once you enter and set it. I may get the name wrong and maybe someone can correct me, but it might be "video8", in the settings folder.

Not knowing what all you've already done, at this point it might be considered to save the files you DLed from others, uninstall the game, delete the game folder (If ya have a reg cleaner ya might run that too.) and start fresh again. Re-DL and re-install the standalone version.

My fix was the 1.9g stdshape.res file.

Sure is being stubborn. Another player had similar issues too. But I do see new players so I don't think it's the DL or server issue. I've been wrong before tho.

Damn!

Maybe time for a PC shaman or witch doctor to intervene on this.

Sorry man, this sucks. I hope one of the nerd/gurus around here or yourself gets this one figured out. I'll give my lucky silver dollar from 1879 a rub for luck!
