Dickweed Heavy Bomber Group -- Friday, March 13 Rook Strat Fight

PorkyPig, LNG15 with his P51-D escort, and I set out with our flights of B29's, each loaded with eight 2Kbombs, on a long haul to Rookland strat. We figured there would be some "astronautical" opposition.
We were correct. Combat was brutal at our bombing altitude of 34K ft.
SkiShill and WarMark effectively reduced my capacity down to one bomber, but at a heavy cost as both their P47 and Ta152 were shot down by gun crews.
Warmark tried again on our egress with an Me163, but lost a partial wing to gun crew and was unable to recover.
PorkyPig's flight went unscathed, and I was accused by mission lead of hogging up all the kills.
LNG15 successfully saddled up and downed JerryD's Me262.
Targets (radar and AAA strat) reached and bombed severely. Egressed and landed successfully with four of six B29's, only one of which had minor difficulty due to left flap shot off.

I "escorted" PorkyPig in my P47M from Rook shores and north through bish super flak bases on the W side of the map. I can confirm that there was no flak above 36k straight ontop of the flak base, I kept climbing to 43k hoping to get ontop. But so did Porky, and I was too low on fuel by that point to be able to saddle up my attack how I planned.
Those B29's are so dang fast that setting up a good attack at that altitude is near impossible. And since I had spent probably 45 min getting up there and knew I was way over enemy territory, on fumes and had no chance of getting home, I went for sure suicide and saddled up on the B29 six. Hoped to maybe do some damage before I ran outta fuel, but Porky shredded me long before I made any damage. So he had atleast one kill during your mission. <S>
