Custom views In VR

So I've finally got things sorted in VR except for my cockpitview. I seem to be right up againt the windscreen. I thought I could use my up down arrows or page up/down to move further back but nothing happens.  Am I missing something? Also is there a way to set one of my joystick buttons for the radio so that I don't have to guess where my T button on the keyboard is whilst wearing the headset. Tried mapping keys but won't let me select a button.

Get your center where you want it with ctrl-f4 when you're sitting comfortably, then to move your head position, move your head in the desired direction and hit F10.  It will move where your head is in your current view.  Depending, it may not move far enough and you might have to do it a few times.

If you want to move where your head starts in say, your six view, hold the button you use to look that direction and move your head and hit F10 again.  You can do this for all the view angles.  With VR I use a 4 position hat and an up button, that gives me all the views I need with VR.

I have a Quest 3, to set views, I have to make the changes in the full screen monitor view, set F10, then jump into the VR view to check location. Back forth till I have them where I want them.

So do I.  You shouldn't.  Just move your head and hit F10 and it'll move your view location.

When using VR F10 sometimes it seems to work backwards so try moving both ways.

I am using a Pimax Crystal light.  I have put the head movement keys on my joystick so I can use them with the headset on.  They do not move my head position at all.  When I activate them, I can see that they are programmed properly because my head jiggles but does not move.  If I take off my headset and am looking at the display the keys will move my head position properly.  Is it the Pimax app that is interfering?  Also, I am using Steam VR.

Another problem, if I take my headset off due to an unanticipated interruption, when I put it back on my head position can move a lot, sometimes on the floor or at the top of the cockpit.  The only way to correct it is to shut down and restart the game.  Hitting the head position home key does nothing.

You can only use one type of head movement control, either the head tracking of the Pimax, or the keys, not both. You can use the keys with the head set off to adjust the main views. example.... say you dont like spinning your head all the way around to check your six, you can still use the "2" key to get a rear view, but in an F6 all you see is the head rest. Take your headset off, hold down the "2" key and adjust the view, and hit F10 to set it. Once you put your headset back on when you use the "2" key to look back it will start you at that saved view and you will be able to move your head to use the tracking in that view.

I think the Quest 2 has a "center screen" button. When I put the headset on I can use it to center the screen. Maybe Pimax has one as well. I think "control + F4" in the game is "tracker center", you could try that.

yes, the is in fact a "tracker center" function. I made sure to map it to a hotas button. you probably want to push it anytime you put on the headset after you get situated. you can also use it to adjust your view. like if you need to move your head back, just lean forward press tracker center , lean back until your where you want and f10 it.

Had to take the quest 2 off last night to set 6 view in 109..

Wasn't able to adjust anything with it on..

I always use the tracker center key repeatedly to recenter my site as I close in for a shot..
