Off Map
« on: March 06, 2026, 06:54:54 PM »
Not a new request, but there are players who daily abuse off map routings to enemy strats. These missions often last 2-3 hours making it almost impossible for defending fighters to locate the attacker.

This is a second request that, in the interest of fair combat, off map flying should be prevented. Solved possibly by 1: all ordinance jettisoned after 2 minutes off map or 2: disconnect from the game or 3: the location of the off map attacker is clearly displayed while off map.

Long while back, I proposed something similar to #1...my suggestion was all ords, including MG ammo, jetttisoned or deleted, and fuel burn multiplier amp up to 10 or 15X.  Losing all your ords and having no chance of getting back would hopefully dampen the enthusiasm for flying off map.

Yeah, would be cool if you flew out of bounds for longer than 20 seconds that an AIM 120 or lightening strike came out of no where and destroyed your plane  :rofl

I don’t understand why anyone cares about this.
Back in 2022 after a loooooong break from 2010. Old name Ratpack, same for the BBS.

Squad I did the most tours with were the Excaliburs then The 172nd Rabid Dogs. Still trying to talk Illigaf, Coola, Oldman22, and Joecrow into coming back instead of being boring old farts!

I sometimes land a fighter on the beach of the “border” and go AFK with the volume cranked.

The excitement and scramble when I hear one flying over is fun.

Probably because 1 formation of bombers can significantly reduce factory strats for 3 hours in just a matter of minutes - 18 goons or m3s needed to repair the damage.

If a player is going to be a strat raider, he or she should face some jeopardy on the way to the enemy's essential factories.

Whether anyone does anything about this is doubtful; the complaint has been discussed for a long time.

All true, but if they’re off map chances are, they’re out there for a lot longer than just a couple of minutes and plenty of people could go get them. If real life has any measure like a lot of arguments seem to be bogged down in, the world would extend beyond the grids.

I take your points. I think the stress system should be updated to both be more dynamic like in the past and less easy to manipulate.
