So you don’t like it because you would rather be able to trick people as bait instead of just letting them know who you are and fighting as such? Serious question.
For me I really don’t care. It hasn’t changed anything for me. I find this one of the sillier petty hills people continually like to die upon.
You may not remember how it was.
Today as soon as a plane comes into the vicinity of an enemy plane EVERYONE on both teams know where they are, its direction, and whether its a bomber or a fighter. It dosent matter if dar is down it doesnt matter the distance they are from an enemy or friendly base.
In the old days you had to fly into an enemies base whos dar is functioning to see in coming cons. The best you got normally was a darbar moving from sector to sector. You got no other warning. You could use cloud cover to try and stay out of line of sight and setup an attack before you could get swarmed by 2, 3, how ever many cons were in the cap. Running high alt could get you the same as low alt if the "defenders" in the situation didnt scan the sky well enough, or often enough. A lone guy could jump 4 cons away from a base and stand a chance at getting a couple kills , reporting the cons to friendlies, and still maybe make it out alive.
The AWACs radar takes all that away. A friendly lighs up dar on 2-3 cons and you know/think that friendly sucks, doesnt play well with others, what ever and you can decide to just turn away and avoid that fight. Or a friendly lights up a single con and 4 friendlies converge on that one con from all over to sector to gang that one guys. Dont know about you but I hate "ganging" as much as I hate getting ganged on! It also make trying to sneak a goon in for a capture impossible. You dont even have to spot it, it pops up on dar as a bomber icon so easily.
There was a time that it worked to help newbis find fights, but now alll it does is destroys chances for fights and turns them into gangs or players running away to grab stupid alt and come back to pick.
