Video Stutter Radeon 8500

Hello,

   I just finished putting together a new system to play aces high.  I'm running the following system.

Soltek Sl7dvr2 Mobo
Athlon XP1600
256MB DDR Ram
Radeon 8500 OEM 250/250

I'm running the game in 1280x1024 32 bit color.  When I fly through area's of smoke the game slows down to about 1-2 frames per second til I'm through the smoke...  Anyone else running the Radeon card having the same problem, any ideas how to fix it??  I'm running Windows ME and the latest Beta drivers (6008)..  Other than that the game runs fine at around 100 fps.  Thanks for any help.

Yep know what you mean . I had to switch to a nVidia product because of smoke in AH . I was using a 64 DDR  .

Have you tried some of the older drivers . I still think the older driver versions were faster but don't know about for your card in this case .
