3D200 Benchmarking of a new 1700xp system
« on: January 12, 2002, 11:40:05 AM »
I put together a new system using an ABit KR7A motherboard, AMD 1700xp, Leadtek Geforce3 Ti200 and 256MB Corsair.  I am using the 23.11 drivers for the video card.  I got quite a difference in 3D2000 scores as I tweaked my system and thought it might be usefull to some if I posted the scores as I tweaked.  The system is rock steady with all of the tweaks.  The score below is untweaked.

pretty good scores. Did you have to unlock the CPU before you hanged the multiplier on the FSB?

I have not unlocked the multiplier on this chip.  Not sure if I'm going to try it. It looks like a fairly involved process.  The multiplier is 11 on the 1700xp and the FSB is 133.  I had to up the core voltage to 1.825 in order for the new FSB of 140 to work.

I may try increasing the FSB more but I will probably have to work on cooling a little more before I do.  Right now the motherboard CPU sensor is reading 56 celsius when gaming.  High end is 70 so I will probably add a couple of fans to the case and see what happens.  I'm running a Swiftech MCXC-370 on the CPU.
