If this has been discussed before then sorry...
what about creating a new position in certain planes that is a radar operator? this position could have a radar screen that more or less emulates the normal radar/map screen BUT operates independently of your countries radar being up, has a limited range and shows altitude.
The operator could then vector the pilot to a buff.
Maybe even enable this ONLY during night time thus enabling night fighters such as the mosquito and 110C (when it comes), and even Me262 and P38.
Might also encourage new types such as Beaufighter or Uhu (He 219) or (dare I say it... P61).
Worth asking Hitech to consider for future release?
