My € .02 worth: It's too damn short!!!!

On the other hand, it has great atmosphere and music, and good variety of missions.

Just don't expect another Op. Flashpoint or Ghost Recon... this is an arcade, and pretty good at it.

AI has some of the best routines I have seen, mixed with irritating shortcomings (kill everybody in a room... if the soldier hasn't been "activated" by your presence, he'll do nothing).

But there are very good AI routines:

- soldiers that fire without giving you a clear shot (as in shooting without actually looking at where they are firing)
- run into an enemy soldier around a corner if he's not expecting you... you'll actually scare the hell out of him! :D
- soldiers run for cover, etc...

... well, you'll see for yourself.

Hmm this has been quite long, make it my € 1 worth :D

What Cyrano said.

There are just some great moments here, but if someone puts the whole puzzle together in the next 2 years, games are just going to be funner than sh*t.

(Puzzle, meaning they left out blood and any form of realism when they got most else right. Think Soldier of Fortune 2 meats MOH.)

whoopee, I thought a Deer hunting game would sell good years ago (then they made that dumb bellybutton multi-million seller which WAS fun btw).

Can anyone please tell developers a WWII SIM game with realism to the point of humans bleed is a HUGE seller? Was Saving Private Ryan so great because Tom Hanks was chubby from being rich, or because is was just brutally REALISTIC therfore compelling?

Anyways, getting to the top of the D-day bunker in MOH just to snipe the other bunker MG's was as satisfying as when they flamed em in Saving Private Ryan. You felt SOMETHING in the theater, you do in MOH as well. Weird.

Great game, great concept, and is a hell of alot of fun.

Who is going to reap the Deer Hunter Fame for programming a game like MOH with realism?

Damn, I wish i could program, it would go over like Fatty's cup of piss fueled Alien car.

Fun game.

I was getting pisssed at the other guys hiding behind the obstacles and not allowing me to move when I wanted to.

I found shooting them out of my way helped......

I was mildly annoyed that the enemies were capable of things I wasn't... Like leaning, and going prone... but on the whole, and for the type of action game it was, it is the best one I've played.  Really, really fun!  And way too short...

going pron is a no no in MoH, thats the only thing i think that sucks about the game.

I'm currently in the battle (can't remember the name) that starts off with you and your guyz in a boxcar that opens up and you have to kill all the snipers. Right now, I'm in I think the second or third part of that mission, running around down in the basement setting charges on fuel cells (or something).  Anyway, there's a couple other rangers with me and at one point we had to "blow" the door (plunger).  Inside the door there's a machinegun pointed down the length of a hallway blazing away out the door.

The 2 other rangers I'm with immediately fire a couple shots down the hall after I blew the door and then positioned themselves on either side of the door.  1 guy has a Garand, the other a .45 pistol.  As I'm slowly moving up to position by the door, I see the dude with the Garand fire off a couple then pull back to cover, followed closely by the .45 guy, unfortunately, as timing would have it the dude with the .45 took a hit and immediately jerked back to cover and turns so his back is against the wall right next to the doorway..I'm now facing him when he starts fireing a couple shots at a time by reaching around (cross body) and sticking the .45 and hand only into the doorway enough to get the shots off.  .....I actually said "what the hell are you doing you idiot" lolol.  I laugh harder every time I think about it.

Are we seeing the beginnings of real emotions (fear) in AI ?? hehe....funny as hell.  But I can't wait to see whats next in these games.

Never even got off the beach the first 2 times...

Very much a console in attitude, but it's a n interesting game. Love it when the axis fire their weps blind over crates, or around corners, the weapons need more killing power, but then you wouldn't last long on some maps.

Oh, and Tronsky - you can modify the characteristics of the weapons - giving them more power - by opening the Pak0.pk3 with winzip, extracting it, and modifying the .tik files for the different weapons (in the models\weapons folder).  There is a line called 'bullet damage' - turn that up to 100 for the Garand, and then modify the other stuff respectively, rebuild the archive (WITH the directory names it lists exactly the same) and start a new game.  A single center mass hit with the Garand will put a bad guy down... your character will also take much greater damage per round - makes it much more fun - and Omaha 2x as hairy. :)

(The MG42 is in the staticweapons folder)
