The CT arena is not an elitist environment!!! I totaly resent you saying that it is!!!!!

I think the real reason you don't fly there is because we're all better than you or anybody in the MA so you can't fly in there because you'd only get shot down!

Great job guys!  You've taken what was a friendly thread, into a squeakfest.  Cripes, just relax a bit.  It doesn't always have to be a about hidden agendas, etc...jerks.

ROFL... man, I'm crackin up sittin here readin this..

Look, I dunno how the 'elitist' BS got started, but I had fun with it fer a few days.. pretty much the same way I had fun with Hristo's tag of 'opportunist' that he hung on the allied pilots. Big stinky deal.. and so what?

Yah know what I don't miss in the CT? Arrogance.. from anybody. It don't seem to exist... except on rare occasions. Now I suppose that won't last any longer than the low CT numbers..the arrogance will oddly appear just as soon as the CT numbers get up beyond beta numbers in the old AH.

Yah know what i'm liking about the CT?? The smooth frames, the rock solid connects, the lack of warping, the good fights I'm getting from good sticks, the comraderie with both the opposition and the teammates, the clearer sense of mutual support, the lack of whining when the opposition is foiled, the lack of griping and finger pointing when the team objective fails.. kinda like it was way back when in the old MA.

Yah know what else i like?? flying against opposition A/C rather than against every damn plane made in the time frame regardless of country..

And for the first time in over a year I'm actually getting better at flying and acm because my SA is not worked to beyond maximum while the Fe stalls under a 30 con workload in my immediate area... I can finish the fight I started... I've had single engagements that ran as long as 30 minutes.. GOOD fights, with the other guy, sharp as nails; gettin every bit outta his plane, forcing me to fly better than I have in years.

[RANT]

I'm astounded at the amount of negative diatribe being tossed at the CT guys here on the BBS.. because they found something they liked and they wanna share that good experience with others, yah gotta toejam in their cream of wheat?

Damn.. nothin could be worse than havin some guy come in to the CT with a fargin whiney negative attitude and start gripin and squeakin about how it ain't what he wanted, about how he's gettin gangbanged, (Shane) about how it's not this or that.. do us a favor, exercise yer 'quit' button finger, and get lost!

Had a good stick in there last night... Manx, i guess it was.. we had some good sorties together, but this bonehead shane would not shut up about gettin banged by three spits he kept flyin back into.. So manx asked.. "is it always like this in here?"

If it's the people that make the CT enjoyable.. it's also the people that can make the CT unenjoyable. Right now, it's a blast for the most part.. but if folks like that pinhead Shane start campin out in there, it'll be just another kiddie carnage and whinefest arena like the MA's become... so if yah DON'T like the CT concept, just stay the hell outta there, and let the guys that enjoy the place do their thing in an adult atmosphere. You have a choice.. choose wisely.

Of course, thats just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Hangtime and Udie,

Read the first post in this thread... again and again.

Are you saying it wasn't intended as a dig on the MA?

Are you saying it in no way critiqued the flyers that fight in the MA?

Please...
Quote
1:Seeing a pilot get lamblasted by his own country for taking up a NIKI...And then watching him actually RTB and get a real plane.(BlueDog...your soul is safe)
People choose what plane they fly.  Its ok to dog someone for that decision and they should be complimented when they cater to the whining.  Yeah.. this isn't behavioral nor is it condemning of the MA
Quote
2:People breaking off their engagements to give cover to friendly JU88's closing on an enemy base.
Exactly who/what is this directed at?  Does the MA require you to stay engaged or is it a decision?  Is that decision thus the flyers being critiqued?  Remember... he said this NEVER happens in the MA.
Quote
3:Can spend hours in there without hearing a complaint about HO's,warping or losing a perk plane.
And you can spend 5 minutes in there and hear all 3.
Quote
4:Epic 1 on 1 battles with some of the best pilots in Aces High.
This happens everywhere... Oh.. waith.. NOT in the MA... this NEVER happens there.  Is that because there aren't any epic 1:1's or is it because the best pilots aren't there.
Quote
5:Can shoot down a Me109 without worrying about being bounced by a high Spitfire.
Of course... you still have to worry about a higher Bf 109... and that 109 is worrying about your spitfire.  So.. you still get the same situation... only the planes have chaged.  Either the point is invalid or its a dig on spitfires
Quote
6:Me262 for 22 perks.
Wow... the first objective statement in the whole thing.
Quote
7:Carrier planes only available on carriers
Yep.. this is totally realistic.  F4u-1Ds and Seafires NEVER launched from land bases... and they are so totally impacting.
Quote
8:Nobody cares about hit%,K/D or K/T.
Yet they wanted a score page for the CT.
Quote
9:People switching sides to even out the numbers.
OK.. so side switching is necessary due to low numbers.  Especially in an arena where 1:3 is entirely possible.
Quote
10:Me.(When numbers in MA are over 300)..
One that managed not to dog one arena for the sake of promoting another.  And it only took 8 tries to do that twice.

Both of you can try to tell me that so many are being critical of the MA.  That is roadkill.  Most are simply getting tired of the CT casually critiquing the MA and screaming foul on any rebuttal.

The CT offers a different environment.  One that you might like... and guess what... one that you might not like.  Everyone can decide for themselves.

Enough of this "touting the virtues of the CT" roadkill.  It is no more virtuous... nor are these posts.

Almost without fail every CT advocate says "no elitism exists", then proceeds to prove otherwise and explain why the CT is so much better then the MA...all in the same post.

There are lots of definitions of elitism, but I thought this one was apropos:

Elitism noun  Elitism is organizing things for the benefit of a few people with special interests.

Nothing against the CT, I fly there myself once in awhile, but patting yourself on the back and posting how one arena and it's players are a better class of player/person is ridiculous...and divisive.

Yea, I miss the attitute of the early Beta, I remember Laughing so hard as My wingless b-17 spirelled out of the sky.

The CT is different but definately not eletist. The numbers are picking up, to each his own. I fly both, had great fights in both.

I will be flying CT mostly for now but enjoy both.

"Elitism noun Elitism is organizing things for the benefit of a few people with special interests. "

Read some of Lazs posts about closer fields for the furrballers, Me163 so he can kill "fluffs" that are "ruining" his fun, how buff pilots "don't deserve to have fun" cause they "haven't earned it"; THERE is elitism at it's finest.

:D :D :D hehe dude my post was a joke :D :D :D

For the record I didn't tout nothin.   I did notice this same phenomenon back when WB opened up their HA oh so many years ago.  We were labled elitist then too for just trying to drum up business, which is how I read the first post...

What amazes me is that 5 years later you still fail to understand why.

Here's a tip:  When promoting the CT, try not to point out just how much better the arena and all the people flying in it are than the MA.  It goes a long way towards kicking the elitist label.

"...Read some of Lazs posts..."

A little test for you eddiek.  Try writing a whole post without mentioning lazs.  Come on...I know you can do it.

I never said it was better than the MA.  It's just a different way to play the game.  We need more in there so people pump it up.  No need to get bent out of shape man there's like 450 in the arena every night.
