Some corrections in 412th Scores
« on: February 10, 2002, 04:39:16 PM »
It says in the score page for frame three that I landed at field 19 to refuel and rearm.

After I shot my Typhoon I was engaged with a Spitfire that nearly had me bested over the channel, desperate to live I dove for the deck heading back into france. I arrived over a fuel depot which saved me my life from this greedy Spitfire, The Spitfire disengaged and I returned to orbit A19 I could see that none of the pilots returning to A19 were not of my sqaud. I orbited until I confirmed that my squad was on the way. On the ground I realised that this was not in fact A19 but A20!! I reupped and we formed up to head to England.

Which brings me to my second point, When we arrived over England we were engaged with nearly double our force of Spits and tiffies. Finally realising that sticking around would be certain death I broke for the deck being chased by no less than 5 enemy.

Trying to get away I had a prop strike and was killed instantly.

I dont recall being hit by enemy fire, but i was certain that my death was of my own doing.

Thanks to the TOD fellas for an excellent frame 3, and thanks to the unlucky Typhoon that upped my score to 2 kills in my TOD stats.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

It seems that you were the 190 Makarov9 and I (flying typhoons) met above the english coast near P39 around 50 mins after the beginning of the frame.

My wingman and I spotted a 190 getting into the 6 oc position of an AK. I sent a check 6 to this guy, who swiftly broke down. The 190 split-S'ed to follow him, and we began to chase this bogey as well. The enemy pilot must have spotted us, because he let go his prey and began defensive maneuvers, diving to the deck. There, after a couple more jinks, he hit a hill cliff not too far from the shore and blew up. I don't remember having seen other friendlies following us, but I can't be positive (or negative) about this point.

This 190 got definitely shot down (maneuver kill). However, as we haven't fired a single shot, we don't receive the kill credit, which is normal. So the allied vs axis scores are unaffected.

If you were this 190, I think the 'Shot down' mention is appropriate. Besides, I'm also glad to have avenged the courageous squadmate you treacherously murdered ;)

Scores are taken directly from the server logs which are generated in the same manner as in the Main Arena. Remember, kill messages are not shown during the frame as they normally are in the MA. If they were being shown, you would have seen it in this case as your death was recorded as a kill by the server.

Yeah, it can be mystifying, particularly when you get a lot of bandits around.
The same frame, I was in a fur when my plane suddenly took a ton of pins in rapid succession and exploded.  Did I miss a bandit?
I reviewed the film -- the nearest guy who possibly could have shot me was 500 yards on my six and maneuvering.
The lesson? Stay away from large concentrations of enemies.
Or, if you're gonna raise hell in a furball, come speeding in from high above the whole mess.  Pick out your prey, kill him before his FE updates your position properly and bug out.  :D

I knew my time was short.

I saw those typhoons and broke for the deck knowing there was nothing I could do except lose you in some evasives and stay low. Real low. Im pretty sure that the tiffie can catch the 190A5 on the deck. So I was jinking and rolling like crazy trying to lose you.

Good fight.
