This is recording of a real P-47D starting up.  You can find more sounds like this on CDs from www.aircraftrecords.com.

I also have a Typhoon engine running sound:  http://www.raf303.org/funked/typhoon_eng.wav

Thanks, funked. You wouldn't happen to have the eng.wav file too that matches that engstart.wav, would you  ?

Love the Tiffie engine sound, Funked. Can I use that in AH? If so, how would I go about accomplishing that?

Jeez, what a stupid banana   . You just create a folder in  Aces High/sounds/ called 'typhoon' and then rename the soundfile to eng.wav and put it in there.

Sorry Rojo, I don't have a good engine running sound for the Jug.  If you listen to a P-47 flying over it sounds pretty similar to the F4U, so I'm using Wabbit's F4U sound, although I have increased the pitch about 20% to get the RPMs right.

Mike,

Instead of teasing us, just ost it on here. I have no idea how to increase pitch of the sound.

OK, here you go:

First one is modified Typhoon sound that I like.  Second one is the modified F4U sound I discussed above.

I used Sound Forge and sampled the engine start wav Funked posted to make a engine wav for the P47,I also made some new .50 caliber sounds and put together a 16 bit sound pack for the jug,its 1.5 MB-get it from the "Checkertails" website.

Thanks Jihad. I'd used the sound funked had for the starte up, then used the EAW/Combat.sim sound for the engine runing but it wasn't a very smooth transition between the two.
I'll try these later and let you know how it goes!
 Thanks, again

Jihad, I got an "illegal operation" error when I tried to run your sound file.  Could you possibly post links to the eng.wav file as I would definitely like to try it.    (I tried to make one myself, but it sounded pretty poor as a loop.)

Several people had problems with the exe file so I`ve uploaded it in zip format, just unzip it to your AH sounds folder-if anyone has problems with it I`ll add links to the wav files.
