Any possibility of supervised training?
« on: February 23, 2002, 04:16:07 AM »
If the answer to that is no,,,,then I might as well pack it in because the training arena is total chaos.....no chance to practice or fly without  people totally ignoring , down right laughing at the rules  or worse yet forming mutual admiration societies,,,,lol.   AH might be a great game but your losing the next wave of players by indifference ,,,,,,,or lack of some type of structure to introduce them to the game .  Noone deserves to be thrown to the wolves.

Have faith,  Wimpy. The  TA problems have been brought  up some
time, and i'm sure HTC  will  take some steps to regulate misuse of
the TA. (Why in the world do those guys fly in the TA, instead of use
 the DA??)

Currently, you should post on these boards and contact the trainers
personally, and schedule the training sessions. I think  the odds  of
finding trainers on-line every minute of 24 hours is pretty low :)

Or, you can ask for help to some of other players. Some people are
unqualified(all the training they give you is shoot you down :) ), but
there are quite a few others who are more than happy to give  their
 help to those in need.

 ...

Personally, I think HTC should make Training Reference Material...
something like a '7-day program'  beginning from  basic use of  AH
clipboards and systems, simple flight physics lessons, and advancing
to basic flight training and finally combat training.

Trainers, in my opinion, should be tested so that they are qualified
to teach according to the set training program so new players may learn
and enjoy AH in the most efficient way.

The TA is used by some as a game arena. The low damage, high ammo loads, and ability to frag your own side appeal to some as game features rather than training aids.

Aurelius has been in the TA lately dealing with some of the problems there. You can film any inappropriate activity and send it to support@hitechcreations.com. You can also ask somebody to fly at a different field with you, chances are most of the people in the TA at any given time are not part of the problem.
