Jabo is easy with practice, ask a more specific question and many can answer you.

Pick the plane your going to be jaboing with the most. Go to the TA and find a base close by an enemy Vehicle Base. Fly to the enemy V base at an alt of about 12k.

Dive down and take out the AI ack first. Then dive on the hanger. Make your dive fairly steep. Look to the side and mark the angle of the horizon in your mind. Put the center of your gunsight pipper in the middle of the VH. Release your bombs at 3-4k alt agl.

During your zoom, check to see where your bombs hit. If they were short, reload and repete, this time place the VH halfway between the center pipper, and the nose of your plane. Release bombs and check their placement. Adjust as necessary.

Same drill for rockets, except the angle of the dive can vary. Trick is to learn the path they take leaving your plane, and visual ranging to target.

In short, there is no quick easy path to being effective in the jabo role. It takes work in the form of practice.

Enjoy:D

Heres the trick give yourself enough alt to allow you time to line up on the target. Do some e bleeding before you enter the dive so you dont compress or rip your wings. Adjust your aim using ailerons only dont use rudder. Start by taking the big bombs 1000lbs.

There sites out there I use this 1. The T at the center buttom is what I use to aim with.....

Make sure you have a good straight line dont be going too fast adjust aim with roll......

My CO, Ripsnort, created some very nice training films concerning the Jabo role and many other films.  check out this link:

For me, I usually gain some alt (preferrably 8-10k above target), dive in at around 70-80 degrees, put the gunsight roughly 1 - 1.5 inches above the target, and release my salvo of bombs.  With practice and patience, you'll be able to successfully hit any target from any angle (even 'lobbing'  your ord from several hundred feet off the ground to a target :))

Do this....

Take your default gunsight and copy it to a new name, like htcdefault.

Now, double click on the default gunsight file, the paint program will start.  Zoom the picture out to 800% and turn on the grid lines.

Place a blob one pixal up from the bottom on the centerline.  This is pretty close to where the  bomb site needs to be.  Put this blob on your target and drop your bombs.

Now, place another blob halfway between the bomb site and the gun site.  This is pretty close to where the rocket site needs to be.  Put this blob on your target and shoot your rockets.

A 45 degree dive works well.  So does a 30, 71, 43, 57, 64, 83 or even a 90.   Just get the feel of it, by practicing.

Try to hold the sight steady on the target for at least 2 seconds before releasing the weapon.  Accuracy improves the closer you are to the target.

The German rockets fly a little different, use the gun site to aim them.

Fine tune your sight by using the attack you prefer.

If you can't figure this out, let me know I can send you a sight to start out with.

Good luck!

What I do is start out about 6k above target, (If necessary dive to this alt and bleed some e).  I fly in to the right of the target so that i can see the target out of my left front window.  Once I am in a position to make a roughly 45degree dive i do it.  Use the default pipper and place the bottom of the lower 'tick' on the target release at 2-2.5k above.  Result, dead center hit every time.  I don't do jabo too often but this works well for me.  Just be careful not to get too fast.

Gremlin.

BTW This should have been posted in the Help/Training Forum.

If your problem is dropping bombs you may try next steps:

1 - Fly towars the target, diving a bit to see the target and to ensure that the course is correct, then level your plane following that course.
2 - Once near the target, invert your plane (roll 180 degrees).
3 - Keep flying towards the target leveled and inverted, making small course corrections.
4 - Once almost above the target, swicht to TOP-VIEW, that is, above your head (KP5) and keep leveled until the target is just in the center of your screen
5 - Dive and center the target in your gunsight (take care of your speed, you dont want to be too fast). Now your are doing a pure vertical dive over your target.
6 - Between 3k and 2k drop your bombs and recover.

I too start rolling in for the dive with nose high.
here is a short film with some commentaries of dive bombing the VH.
