A poll for all the people who like to fly historical scenarios
« on: September 18, 2001, 10:06:00 AM »
Hey everyone, I need as many people who are serious about the historical scenarios(Afrika Corps, Hostile Shores) to answer the following questions:

1. Would you dedicate four hours on Saturday and four hours on Sunday of the same weekend to fly a recreation of the "Big Week" air battle over Germany of Feb. 1944?

2. Would you dedicate six hours on Saturday and six hours on Sunday of the same weekend to fly a recreation of the "Big Week" air battle over Germany of Feb. 1944?

Depending upon the time commitment that you can give, we are thinking of something new and exciting for the next scenario.

Keep in mind that while we don't have the times worked out, they would inevitably involve some Euro-friendly time, and some US-Friendly time.

A 'simple' yes or no?  I sure ain't got one of those for you.

My answer for either one is "I'd love to, but..."

Four hours Sat *and* four hours Sun?  Very little way I could attend something like that, unless it was in the middle of winter and there was lots of snow on the ground.

Four (or six) hours Sat *or* Sun, possibly...

Four hours one weeknight and four hours the next weeknight, sure.

Unlikely I can do 2 days running.

I could do 6 hrs. Sat in one shot.

If it MUST be 2 days, It would have to be 4 hours or less.  Even then I might not be able to do that.

I'd be able to do it if I had the date set about a month in advance.

Hi banana,
No simple yes or no I'm afraid....

Assuming we are looking at US friendly times (Not a critisism).

4 & 4 Yes with plenty or warning
6 & 6 Probably not   :(

If it was Fri/Sat instead I could manage both. (I may well be stoned/drunk or whatever but...)

Also the chances of my ISP staying connected for a 4 hour stretch is well... (I would like to see the rules on discoes)  ;)

Yes, for one of the two days. Possible for the second day all I could say right now.

And euro friendly would really help  :)

Ok, to give you a little insight into what we're driving at, we've noticed that in every multi-frame scenario, the numbers in the first frame are huge, practically bursting at the seems. Then as each frame progresses, the numbers dwindle to where we're having a tough time scraping up enough people to do it justice.

Hence the idea to hold the scenario to one weekend, where we're going to try to keep the action going continually for multiple hours at a time. It would be something where we hope people would only have to reserve one weekend every few months on the calendar, instead of four consecutive weeks. There's a lot of detail that needs to be worked out, but what we need from you now is an indication what kind of time commitment you can make to have something like this work.

Thanks for the replies, I guess a simple yes or no was not sufficient.  ;)

1 or 2 would work for me--just give a little notice and the days will be cleared for scenario play.

One weekend per month I can probably do.  A dedication of four-six hours for Aces High is quite a bit and increases the chances that I'll be asked away from the computer by a crying child or the kitchen on fire or whatever else I have to deal with at home and family.  I can't give an absolute answer, but I think I could possibly dedicate a four hour block once per month.

My wife would kill me just for asking...
It was tough enough to play Hostile Shores without her rolling her eyes at the mere mention of it...

She has something against me scheduling times to play games...   ;)

But I could show for one 4hr day...but not both...   :(
