« on: April 10, 2002, 10:09:06 PM »
Loads of things i don't see answered yet.

What is a wep and how does it work.

Im in a p38-l and i have bombs what key drops them once doors are open.

Landing gear will not come out even when i press button, why.
Flaps not lower even when i press q.

Whys that.

Fianly what plane handles the best and gets a good speed?

As a newbie what plane whould i use to get use to flight and landing.

wep gives your engine more power, but heats your engine up.. and can only be used for a certain amount of time before it shuts itself off...

you can't lower your landing gear once you are above a certain speed... the game won't let you lower your landing gear if you are going so fast that they would break off...

you can't lower your flaps below a certain speed... in some planes this speed is about the same as your landing gear.. in some planes you can drop a little flap much faster (p47 and p38)..

in aces high, you don't really need flaps to land or take off..

try dropping your landing gear once you're below like 180 or 160 or so..

as far as weapons go.. you'll notice on your dashboard you have 2 weapon types... if you press backspace, your 2nd weapon type will switch to alternate weapons... on a p38 if you are carrying bombs and rockets, when you take off, you'll see that it says "MG" which is some of your machine guns.. if you hit backspace once, it'll switch to bombs.. if you hit backspace twice, it'll switch to rockets.. and a 3rd time brings you back to machine guns..

on a p38 you don't need to open your bomb doors.. i think it's a bug, but as far as i know.. you can "open" bomb doors on any plane.. even planes that don't have them..

just switch your alternate weapon to bombs and hit button "2" to fire secondary weapon..

all planes are relatively easy to fly around and get used to.. just pay attention to your stall alarm.. it's not an f16.. i'd stay away from f4u.. when they stall, they really stall..

try anything else really, they're all easy to land and take off etc..
