I'm planning next version of Mitsu's Sound Collection.
It would be small update.

Changes:
1. installed hazed's naval gun sound. I already tested it. really thx hazed.
2. prepared different exp3 (bomb exp) and exp4 (object exp) sounds. you can choose favorite ones.
3. New Yak-9T's 37mm Cannon sound.
4. New Hurricane IId's 40mm Cannon sound.
5. New PT Boat's 40mm Cannon sound.
4. New hit_6.wav (man flak hit).
5. Spit14 sounds (I will use engine start/stop sounds from marlin, but eng.wav would be different).

I also want to improve Yak and La series engine sounds.
But they will be not changed in next version...

The Spitfire Mk XIV uses a Griffon 65 engine.  This engine was similar to a Merlin, the most notably differences being greater volume (36.7 litres as opposed to the Merlin's 27 litres) and the fact that it used a Cauffman (sp?) Cartridge system to start as it.  This was due to the fact that the Griffon was initialy developed for the Royal Navy and needed to be started independantly from electricity, which the Merlin could not do.

I'll send you a startup sound I created out of my F4U engine startup sound (I just used the bang from the cartridge) and your Spitfire start sound.  I also increased the volume of the sound to try to render the difference between the 27 litre Merlin and 36.7 litre Griffon.

Can't wait for that!  Love playin around with the sounds in my
aircraft.  Put a certain landing gear in this one, put a different engine and gear sound in that one, etc. etc.   It gets so that I can tell what airplane is approaching and also what kind of vehicle is approaching just by the sound it makes.  Adds a whole new dimension to the game IMHO -

Did a tiph and/or Temp have a cartridge starter??

The Tiffie and Tempest both use a Napier Sabre IIA.  That engine was developed for the RAF, not RN.  Because of that I doubt that it used a cartridge starter.

First ..Thank u Mitsu,,got ur sounds..love....

But I would like to say..the first time my gear came up..I thot i was getting shot....ANd the Sounds of hit damage I somtimes cant tell if they were near misses or hits....Well untill I start blacking out.....lolol:)

I fly a lot of 50cal planes....LOVE THE SOUND...Seems like the you hear the actual bolts slapping  thew receivers!!..Love it!!!

Did a little more research and have found that the "Sabre used a Coffman cartridge starter unit which contained five shotgun-like rounds and used the expansion of explosive gases to turn over the engine."
