No.9 Squadron RAF looking to recruit bomber pilots
« on: April 13, 2002, 09:11:56 AM »
No.9 Squadron RAF are again looking for new members to fill positions within our squad. We are a historically based squad who enjoy using historical methods such as formation flying and carpet bombing.

We are an established Aces High squad with our own vBulletin forums and chatrooms where we discuss training and squad night events. We are soon to celebrate our 1st Anniversary in Aces High and look forward to another enjoyable year here. Experience is not a necessity as we will help you train but is advantageous. We have a strong contingent of players from the US as well as the UK and hold squad nights on Sundays at 8PM GMT. We welcome new sim players and those new to Aces High and will do all we can to help you settle in and enjoy the sim as much as we do.

If you are looking for a historically based squad that values teamwork over score, where each members enjoyment is important and everyone has a say in what we do as a squad then perhaps you have found the right squad for you.

To see some images of our squad in action please drop by our forums and take a look at this thread.

No.9 Squadron celebrates its first birthday

A year ago today after alot of thought I decided to once again form a squad (my last squad was the Eurofalcons in Warbirds) The name was suggested to me by a late friend Steve 'pips' Travell who was very helpful with advice and information on the squad. I could'nt have wished for a better first recruit in the form of 'Aviator' who has been a very enthusiastic member and someone I've come to rely on as a squad mate and friend. He leaves us now to join the USAF and I'm lucky enough to have his father 'Dayo' step up to the XO spot. The last year has been a lot of fun and I've been blessed with the type of members who have always been enthusiastic and good pilots.

I just wanted to mark this moment and to say thanks to my squad member spast and present, to people like Ripsnort who gave me good advice when I was looking to form the squad and to my late friend Steve 'pips' Travell who was a good friend and a great source of information. I'd also like to thank HTC for giving us the sim in which we had so much fun.

Bomber Pilots

Hi Revvin  :)

I`ve been in a number of online games. Air Warrior was one of them. I prefer to be with an organised squad, rather than just bumbling about the the arena helping here and there.
I prefer to fly heavier a/c (my "ping" time is in the high 200`s).
I`m used to "ping" times of up to 500ms !!!!
Anyway a bomber I can handle.. Up to now, I have taken off and landed in most bombers in AH.
I need to join a squad that works/plays with mainly GMT/BST.
So, what I`m saying is: Can I join your squadron??

Regards

AV8

We still have a few places for enthusiastic bomber pilots in Aces High. Along with our latest recruits we have enjoyed some great sorties with pre-planned missions being posted open to all. Recent sorties have seen 9+ bombers with escort fighters strikign deep into enemy territory, fun for those on our side and fun for those fighting against us, here's some shots of previous weeks sorties:-

If you'd like to join us then please do look our for our members online or drop by our forums in the link in my signature I can also be mailed at revvin@ntlworld.com

Thankyou 8Avenger, we'll see you Sunday where we plan to do another large buff sortie as the mission editor now allows formations. While I'm here I'd like to invite anyone else passing by this thread to come and fly with us on Sunday.

Hi Revvin,

I`ve logged into 9 Sqdn`s website. Just in case you don`t see it:D I`ll  ask the same, main question: I would like to "Set up" a Bombing Mission, with all the fighter cover/fuel/bomb loadouts etc.etc.
Could you, or another member of 9 Sqdn help/tutor/adviseEMail etc.etc.

Cheers

AV8

Hi AV8 contact me at revvin@ntlworld.com and I'll sort somethign out for you. I have one or two missions saved that will point you in the right direction. Sunday night I hope to be setting up some more missions for our squad night and you're most welcome to come along. I've not been online recently due to a wisdom tooth giving me absolute hell but got that sorted now so back to active duty.
