toggle primary?

Like toggle secondary for cannons/bombs/rox/dts/whatever there seems to be a toggel primary. What does it do? Is there an aircraft with two kinds of primary weapons?

I've found on the P51 switching primary weapon changes the primary gun from the inboard single .50s to the outboard dual .50s.  However,whenever I do it, and it's always accidental, I get very 'wacky' results at times. Things like, no gun sound or flashing, rapid ammo usage, and graphic stutters. So I avoid it like the plague.
