... the german national team is at an all-time low. They should've been shot right in the stadium for their ridiculous performance.

CC devious. They are simply not fighting anymore.
Years ago the german soccer team was reknowned that they fought until the last minute in order to win even hopeless matches - and in many cases they were successful.

Today these ridiculous bunch of millionaires just quit fighting if the other side scores a goal.

I hope that we loose every game in the coming world championship, so a total reform will be made before the WM in Germany at 2006.

Or we make it like the French: They were so clever to assimilate arab/algerian players and won with them the championship. Maybe we should assimilate the turks - they still have the fighting-spirit ;)

I'm with babek on this and hope  a total reform will be made
before the WM in Germany at 2006. I mean we have good players,
unfortunately they dont play in the national team.

Friendlies before the WC are just that.  Friendlies.  In 98, the USA romped through the last few games before the WC, including spanking Austria 3-0 in Vienna.  WC 98 starts, the USA manages 1 goal vs Iran.  Lost 2-0 to Germany, 2-1 to Iran, 1-0 to Yugoslavia.

Germany has a few players coming back from injury (Janker didn't start), plus they're probably scared of getting injured so they're not going full speed.  Hell, England lost two more players over the weekend, and we lost our starting d-mid in a friendly against Uruguay (in a non contact incident too.)

I wouldn't read too much into this friendly.   Now if they come out and play without passion against Austria as well, then yeah, I'll start to agree that the Germans have lost their heart.

I'm not too bothered about the injuries, even though they are pretty bad (hope Dyer the Flyer makes it back - still uncertain). This isn't England's world cup anyway. The squad is still very young. Also, no European nation has ever won the WC outside of Europe.

But just wait until 2006 when we go to Germany - and win the WC over there. Now that will piss the Germans off :D.

I'm not too keen on dyer....didn't play too well in the last friendly.  However i would rather have him in the squad than out.  Shame that Gerrard is out injured,  he links up with Owen really well (may not be a bad thing, maybe England will learn to play something other than the long ball to Owen).  Starting to take a liking to Joe Cole, our midfield needed a bit of flair and hopefully he'll bring some to it.

Even though it was a friendly,  Wales isn't exactly one of the world's greatest teams (why does Giggs play for Wales? Surely there is some English blood in him somewhere).

I guess that is better than the 3 World Cups Germany has.  ;)

Thrila - Giggs played of Wales when he was really young, and perhaps wasn't sure if he was good enough for england. The way the FIFA rules work is that if you play in a FIFA-recognised game for a country, you become 'locked' to that nationality. You cannot change at any point.

Yeah, Ryan Giggs (then called Ryan Wilson) was a England school boy international so he would have had the option to play for England if had chosen to at International level.  I guess that Wales chose him first and being Welsh he'd be carrying a tremendous amount of passion that is often unequaled by the English (I'm half Welsh/half English ;) )

So, put yourself in his boots.... if you're young and you get chosen for international football then you 'may' take the first chance possible.  Of course playing alongside the likes of Mark Hughes and Clayton Blackmore who were both Welsh internationals and also at Manchester United at the time may have had more to do with it!!  :)

I wonder if giggs got bullied by his welsh relatives until he decided to play for wales.....yeah i bet they did.  Countless  times of being punched in the arm with "play fer wales boyo" shouted down his ear.

It's all one big Welsh conspiracy i bet....:D
