seen em whine and.......
« on: May 20, 2002, 06:29:53 AM »
I seen many times people get shot down and they squeak on channel 1 saying "I was AFK great kill"

I usually thought about those people "you moron don't go afk"

Until I did it tonight, I did the alt to look up the latest in NAB scores, I come abck to see I'm dead.

Do I reconsider my thoughts???????? No! I still think it is a stupid thing to do.  Actually I LMAO when I found otu I died, pretty funny actually.

Lol, I remember a few years ago on another sim, I would go out back to smoke while I grabbed alt, and I'd watch the screen from my back porch, trying to see if I was ever taking hits so that I could run back into the house and try to save myself lol. Used to make me smoke those cigs at light speed.

LOL...I still do this.

Only problem is that saving myself is virtually impossible...I have to weave and dodge through children and their toys to get back to my computer and I am yet to make it back in time to save the flight.

Friday night I had a situation where my wife asked me to grab something out of the kitchen for her...she has a habit of asking just as I get to where I am going on the map.  So...I jump up and run in...find what she needs and run back to the room.  There I am sitting in the Tower.  I look at her and then back at the screen.  She innocently asks what the problem is.  I tell her despite the fact that she knows EXACTLY what has happened.   She then cracks a knowing smile and states, but sweetie...its only a game".

LMAO!!!  Now I am noticing a trend as well.  I'll get to the vicinity of a "good scrap" and sure as toejam, when I am about 5k out.  What commotion is going on in the living room?  Damn siberian husky wants to play with the wife while she is feeding the 8 mo. old a bottle!!  She'll scream out my name and have me put him out.  What cracks me up is that I'm anticipating a good furball or mission that like a love muffin I don't put the dog out beforehand.  I guess that would be too easy!  :p

Does anyone but me notice that some players are almost always afk or some such when they get killed? Had one the other night that mixed it up real good with me, then when I killed him he claimed he was afk.  Riiiight.  In the middle of a dogfight he took a break.  Uh-huh.

Oh this has happened to me soo many times climbing in either the Ar 234 or Lancaster.

I was across the room, checking out the TV and from a distance, thought i noticed tracers whizzing by the cockpit.  I darted for the computer but the plane was already falling apart fast.

Man, if I could run a mile as fast as I ran from the living room to the keyboard, I'd be the fastest man alive....

LOL Arfann.. had that happen a couple of times.  I've engaged a plane, had him go NOE in the canyons, go over a ridge and then start climbing the next and cry "I was AFK" after I cut him off.

Himmm... ?  I always thought AFK kills were the best kind.  They fly stright and level, don't shoot back.   I love them...

Depends on which direction you grab alt. One of the nice things about this is that you can go afk. I have a family, and when I am needed, which is always, I leave my PC but, I never do that if I am near any nme activity.

Next to afk deaths is death by typing. Nothing like typing away like a madman, only to get whacked mid-sentence. On the rare occasions that this happens to me, it was my fault for not checking the dar first. handsomehunk has its own rewards. :D

Reminds me of the time i was having an argument with someone over ch1 and shot a plane down flying nice and level.  Only to discover as he bails it was the guy over ch1.:D   shame i can't remember who it was.

ROFL!!  This happened to me AND ??..Think it was AKCurly the other morning (with an even better twist).  We were both typing away like madmen, I think I was flying a Dweebfire.  I'm alting toward a dot on the map I suspect is a bomber, sure enough turns out to be a 17 or Lanc (can't remember).  I'm high enough for to be safe from guns, so I adjust to so I will fly over him and Curly and I carry on our conversation.  Little bit later I notice I've flown to far over and past the bomber so I turn, go level and head to get over the top of him again...still carrying on the conversation.  FINALLY I get in position, and (lol) still carrying on the conversation I blow the setup and only get a couple hits.  I come back around and we trade a LOT of shots.  Bomber dude takes my wing off at precisly the time I see his ride begin to fall apart.  Bomber was Curly lol... can't remember who got the kill but it was hilarious.

Otto I'm with you. There is NOTHING better than dropping to a low six on a climb out, or a straight and level...

And he never moves....

And you simply blow his soggy butt out of the sky..

Never get's old.

I can't help it, it just comes out..

MUHAHAHAHAHA !!
