Nobody cares if your parents were married when accepting people into the Air Force.. they're more concerned that the parents weren't directly related.  I've noticed you neglected to mention that;)

Of course my parents are directly related to me, they are my actual parents. I didn't know that you had to be an inbred bastard to get into the Air Force. Figured being a dumb bastard was enough.

Nice try sikboy.... but there's only one branch of the service where mom/aunt and dad/uncle are synonymous.. and you were in it;)

I know that you're kinda slow Deja, I've worked with enough AirForce folks to be prepared for that. But follow me here. I was NOT in the Air Force. I don't know how to make this any easier for you to understand. If I can find a picture book to explain it, I'll post it here for you.

BTW, be sure to submit this thread to your CO, you've probably earned a medal :)

Really?  Which were you... a cook or groundskeeper?

Its ok sikboy... anyone that was in the Air Force understands your petty jealousy and would be more than happy to give you a pat on the head to make you feel better.

Now get back home, your aunt and uncle must be worried sick.

DJ, Sikboy, come on guys......the U.S. military service is all on the same side, regardless of which branch you choose/chose to serve in.

The world is a changing place and as such, today's military is different than it was 5 or 10 years ago...that's not our fault.  We do our best at our own level of responsibility to keep things as we see fit, but we do have rules and orders to follow.  What counts is accomplishment of the mission.

Everyone has reasons for being in the service they are in.  I spent 4 years in the Army, but left for the Air Force...not because I was a wuss and couldn't handle the Army, I actually liked it, but I was young and had no real direction in my life.  I wish today I had stayed Army.

I am also man enough to freely admit that I would never sign up for the Marines because I don't think I have the level of physical fitness to hang with what they go through.  I believe I could probably make it through, but not sure I would be ready for 20 years of it.  Some folks are just cut out for that service.  Does that mean the Air Force is a bunch of wimps?  No, not at all.  We all have a job to do and when we all do it, life is much the better for all.  Being the biggest, toughest macho guy on the block doesn't mean sh*t because I have yet to find a person anywhere, regardless of size, that can take a round in the head and walk away..............

Bah, it was all in good fun Warp. Ever since the days of Billy Mitchell the Air services and the Navy have had it in for each other. So it's not surprising that Squids and Zoomies like to take shots at each other. It's componded for anyone who ever worked in a Joint Service environment I believe. You should have some familiarity with that ;).

But you're absolutly right. We are all on the same side, and when presented with a common foe, I've never seen a Sailor or Airman let the service rivaly effect their performance. When I met my wife she was in the Airforce (polishing medals or fluffing pillows or something) so I certainly don't think too lowely of the lesser service :)
