Funked, yes I'll be bringing it to the Con. As for the size of your emphenage, that's not a problem. This one is built to the standard size, but it's amazingly easy to scale the width of it accomodate a WIDE LOAD
. The nice thing is, all vertical pieces remain the same size, regardless of how wide you build it. So if I ever expand my, ehem, posterior footprint, I only have to replace about 30% of it.
The cushion is simple foam rubber, such as is used in couch cushions. I purhased it at a chain craft store called "Hobby Lobby", along with the material to cover it with (not shown). Total cost not counting the new tool I bought (remember: no project's worth doing unless you get a new tool out of the deal...especially if your wife requests the project) was around $70-$80 US.
Muckmaw: So long as you have the proper tools, I'd recommend you give it a go yourself. Measuring, cutting, and a small amount of drilling is all that's involved. I used a jigsaw and a power drill for most all that, and an ocillating sander for the finish. If you can find a good price on plywood that's pre-sanded on both sides, use that.
