A well posted topic but one that still rears its head from time to time.

If your in a bus Que, Would it be ok for me to push right in front?

If your just about to sit down in front of your meal, can i walk over take your plate and eat the contents for myself?

If im walking though a door and your right behind me, wouldnt you expect me to hold the door open for you?

Yeh?

So why do some people insist on SQUEEZING in between the small gap between myself and the con im spraying with fire to cop the kill for themselves.

I die through kill shooter
You get the kill

Thank you, your manners surpass thos of a rutting pig, but only just.

Thank you for your time i fell better now :)

Lets roll :D

Ya know, I got called for that very thing last night. What wasn't known to him was that I'd been chasing the bogie for 1 1/2 sectors and when he made his dive to the base I followed w/o diving, caught up to him at the apex of his zoom and missed the shot so I reversed and followed him down. When I was D 1.0 somebody pulled to my targets 6 and tried a snapshot but missed and continued the chase...here I come gaining on both at a fast pace and blew by my country mate and popped the bog only to hear that I stole a fight from someone else. What a bunch of BS, I ignored him like I do to most whines directed at me. My time in AH is limited and I refuse to allow some whiney geek try to ruin my fun just because he thinks he was the first in line :D

It's a game, have fun. If you aren't having fun why play?

Aces High is not a welfare state.  If someone squeezes into the small gap between yourself and the enemy you're trying to kill, it means he angled for better position and did so in a more timely matter than you.  In most cases, he probably wasn't even paying attention to you and your inability to kill the enemy at a "small" distance.

Learn to kill more effectively and efficiently and you won't have the need to complain on the forums about "manners."

You need to map a button on your joystick to send a "dibs" message to the country channel radio buffer.  That way... when someone does this, you can yell "BUT I HAD DIBS!" really loudly.

If you're going to whine like a 3rd grader.. you might as well get the lingo right.

O'bear
He's yours when you actually chop his wings off.

BTW, if you want to spray a bunch of lead over my shoulder while I kill someone, feel free.
If you want to whine about kill-shootering on me afterwards, feel free.
If you ever see me spray 3,000 rounds at a guy for 10 minutes without killing him, and you want to fly through my fire-stream resulting in putting me out of my misery via kill-shooter, by all means, feel free.

if you die from killshooter its your fault.

what you see on your fe and the other guy that "squeezed in front of you" see are different. In his fe he may be above or to the side of you.

Only you can react to what you see on your fe. Take a second to look. if you see a guy slipping in then you have lost the advantage and you should hold your fire. If it go for the shot and get killshootered then take it like a man. It may have "rude" for him to jump on your kill but everything is fair game.

So next you can get pissed because you got killshootered or you can learn some better sa and realize when to back off.

Thats right its your fault if you die in killshooter. The other guy didnt make you pull the trigger.  A quick check when you are pursuing a con that  multiple friendlies are chasing  will save you a headache.

I know its tough excepting responsibility for your actions especially in an arena where its always some elses fault

I enjoy guys who dive in front of other people to steal their kills... the resultant string of 5 or 6 friendlies chasing a single bad guy trying to steal the kill from each other is so hilarious. Especially while I circle above them, watching the other 4 reds to move in and destroy them all. That leaves me with 4 low, slow targets.

So thank you all for being so greedy you didn't notice the other 4 inbound targets, you just gave me 4 easy kills.

Of course, I still suffer the amazingly dumbfoundingly annoying people who will dive in just as I am dealing the final blow to another plane I just crippled only to watch them pump in all their cannon rounds and zoom away.

Between those two, it's a wonder why I don't fly more often!

Seriously- people could learn a little engagement etiquette or something.

Yes I am having fun thank you and no, the other fighter was nowhere to been seen, i had many pings on this B26, got him smoking real well. Been chasing him for a little while.

I know when dog fighting you are at some point going to cut in front of someone once in a while, i am no doubt guilty of this in the affray.

This was someone who came in from a great distance, from alt at speed, underneath my aircraft and right in front of my face whilst I was shooting. I will lay a bet with anyone to stop shooting in time not to get kill shooter in these instances; bullets already have left your gun.

Rather than fill the text buffer in game with obsanitys, I came in here for a quieter and rather more composed and reflective response.

I didn’t cry, nor did i let the event ruining my evening, fact is after the post it was forgotten. Freedom of speech anyone?

Judging by the replies some of your obviously fail to notice the :) and the :D at the end. These are called Emiticons i think, used to give some idea on your mood.

This has happed to me on many occasion, and its usually part of the game you just deal with, no biggy.

This however was a deliberate move.

I just wanted to point out how rude I find it. That is if that’s ok with everyone

When some over-zealous pilot makes a play for a plane I'm working on, I do the following: As soon as he's in front of me, I give a Check 6 and shoot a burst past his ear. Most of the time that causes him to break or jink. If it doesn't work, or if he's on to that ploy, there are other, less endearing methods to exact revenge or protect your "claim".

I had worked my Yak, unseen, to the low 6 of a Dora. As I closed to 700 yards, I see a Typhoon racing down to try for the kill, and the Dora jockey hadn't seen him yet. So, I fire a long-range burst at the 190, which immediately turns hard left. This killed any chance that the Tiffy would get a shot as his speed was way too high to follow. OTH, my Yak easily turned inside the Dora and whamo.... That Tiffy pilot had the nerve to complain that I had spoiled his shot... Poor baby... Did he think I was gonna let him steal it just like that? Silly boy.

Another point: 95% of the time, I arrive at fights with substantial altitude in my pocket. This allows me a good vantagepoint to evaluate what's going on before I commit to engaging. Frequently, I'll see a one on one or two on one below. Usually, I'll simply observe without jumping into the fight unless my countrymate(s) are having trouble. Even then, I'll ask if they need help or if I deem it necessary, announce that I'm "in" over voice com. Even then, you get the occasional guy who whines that you stole his kill, despite the fact that you undoubtedly saved his bacon. Then again, there are a lot of pilots who never realize that they're in trouble until they get killed.

As to "conga lines", it's alway fun picking off the "tailend Charlie" while everyone else is fixated on the unfortunate target.

My regards,

Widewing

The funniest thing of all is when the friendly who "calls" a plane ends up getting killed by it as I orbit above.

Friendly--"Why'd you let it kill me?"

Me--  "Because you said it was all yours"

Friendly--  "F.U."

Heheheh too funny  :)

P.S. should hopefully be back in the arena by the end of the month, job slowing down sooner than I expected :)

lol, I had a similar incident a few tours ago. I see a friendly La7 below me bounce an even lower Dhog. I loiter above as I don't like to jump into someone else fight. I'm a cherry picker at heart. Anyway, it looks like the La7 has the upper hand so I turn away to find a fight of my own. The Dhog reverses the La7 and whacks him. The friendly comes over country channel, "Yak, you suck. No help at all!".

I immediately saw there was no need to reply as it most assuredly would have gone right over his head.

Kill stealng is another symptom of 400 players in the arena.  When we had 100-200 we still had kill stealing but not on this scale.

It's time to seriously look at what 400 players has done to the game.  It's not the same AH or WB we were playing before AW folded.  Consider that  summer numbers are down and Fall should see even more in the arena.

Heads up!  Lets look at this with fresh eyes.

When I was a MOL back in WB, we had I think two rules and one of them was to steal as many kills as possible from your squaddies.  Even after I left WB and the MOLs, I still hold that rule in high regard.  If I see someone taking forever and a day to shoot down the other guy, I'll dive right in for the steal.  Only time I won't go for the steal is when the bad guy is obviously damaged.

and my point is that kill stealing is fine in an arena of 150, but when there's 400 it's not "cute" any more, it's disruptive.

We may not be able to apply what was "fun" in WB's and early AH in this new game.
