A report that two Middle Eastern men attempted to buy a replica ambulance from a Lyndhurst company earlier this month sparked a wave of concern yesterday about possible terror attacks during the July 4 holiday.
But by the end of the day, the FBI had located one of the men and determined that the incident had nothing to do with terrorism. Instead, FBI spokeswoman Sandra Carroll said, agents determined the prospective buyers were maintenance men with a legitimate business purpose in mind: They wanted a vehicle with lots of compartments to store their tools.
