Hi Trancedylan,
 First of all Welcome :)

No there is very little offline I'm afraid. Being an online game very little development goes into this aspect. You can attack enemy fields, trains etc (and they will return fire) but nothing in the way of missions. All you get apart from that are the 4 drones circling for target practice. They don't fire back and you can blow wings etc off and they still carry on until you get the pilot.

Hope this answers your questions

Thnx 4 the welcome Snafu!

I should've guessed really about the offline restrictions. It's a pity that maybe there aren't 1 or 2 bots to fly against because it might encourage beginners like myself to get involved in some practise dog-fights to make us feel less out-of-place in a world of online aces.

(btw - with scenery packs like Norway it's almost nice enough to just fly about and buzz the locals :) )

Another good training aspect is the head to head areas that are free even after the 14 day trial.  Depending on who's hosting the H2H session, you can get anything from vulch fest (usually against you) to a decent 4 v 4 match with base capture, etc.

As SNAFU said, welcome aboard.  When your online, a polite question on two is usually answered.  If you are totally lost, check out the Training Arena.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll see you in the forums and on-line as soon as I feel comfortable in an aircraft. I've only ever flown modern aircraft sims and although ACM's are probably identical it's taking me a while to get used to the handling/performance of the WWII aircraft.

Take care.

Welcome Trance!,

I'm not an official trainer but would be happy to spend an hour or two in the training arena sometime.  I usually fly from 8 PM CST to 11 or 12.  Tuesday is squad night & Wednesday is usually an events night.  Private chat me in Main Arena or send me an email and we could set up a time to train.  If you've flown 'jet" simms, about the best advice I can give you is "be patient, E doesn't grow on trees around here."

Cyas Up!
