AAR Malta Frame 2
« on: June 30, 2002, 04:12:08 PM »
All was fun again, thought I would get my AAR in quickly.

WOD patrolled NE Malta in Spit1s, chased some 110s in and got a couple (after they dropped though I think)

After that we just patrolled various parts of Malta waiting for enemy but didn't really see much more. I think the Firebirds killed all our targets

We didn't lose any pilots or planes (one exited to tower on first rearm by mistake). Rest (6) landed just before end frame.

Another nice frame, looking forward to looking at the Logs.

308 (in Spitfires I) shot down various Ju 88s and Bf 110s near Malta.  It got boring so we headed up to A6.  Little did we know that Jerry had a whole squadron of F-4s waiting up there.  We lost some planes but gave worse than we got.  Maybe change the name of the scenario to "LW Hides Over Sicily".  :D

Yea - those LW hiding over Sicily made short work of the 418RCAF's TBM's and Hurri's.

Nonetheless, the only Shore Battery at P82 was destroyed along with many minor targets before we died.

Enjoyed it as always. Thanks to all but expecially the CM's for their work.

All had a blast  for my first time as a C.O.

As for the AirMegs i have yet to get the totals on our kills for the TOD..  but as for myself  i can confirm 2 possibly 3  Mc202's and
1 possibly 3 Ju 88's

I just wanted to say to all of the Allies    you guys made me feel like i've been commanding for years,  and i hope i can do it again in future TOD's... you guys are the best!!!!!!!

18°Gruppo, 3°Stormo + some guests from JG26 took off from A9 like planned heading A6 during climbout to 20K.

At about 18K we have seen a large formation of spits circling just N of Malta waitin for us at 30K   (15 to 20 or more planes) and another small spread group of 4 planes at E, so I managed the group to gain the max alt we could before engaging the spits.

And so it was.

At almost 30k we started to dance trying to force the spits low but afther some kills reported, it was our time go down in chutes.

Too unbalanced fight.
