I have noticed the Zero being able to get pretty danged fast.  The P-40 will still outrun it after a dive, but Zero-sen is keeping it close.  I'll try to play with it offline this evening (if I'm not terrain testing.)

Headons over Burma...   If I'm in US iron, I'm taking 'em!  Had a really good one yesterday.  He was coming up, I was going down.  I couldn't believe he pointed his nose at me!  Gotta love that Wildcat!  If I'm in Jap iron, err balsa wood, I'm lead turning 'em!

This is a totally different style of fighting than what we're used to.  The planes are all slow, and the Japanese guns are awful allowing for very close quarters dogfighting.

I just ran offline tests.  have the film, have posted in both bugs and in the aircraft forum.  Had the baby up to 567 mph and only lost the rudder.  Dont ask me how.  Probably combat trim, since I was flying with the mouse.  Pulled out no problem.  Pretty sad.  If you want to view the film I will email it.  Otherwise just try it yourself.

nasty bug that is.  ANybody know how fast it should be able to go?

"The P-40 will still outrun it after a dive, but Zero-sen is keeping it close. "

This matches up well with pilots accounts from the real deal--the trick wasn't to simply outrun the zeke in a dive, but to out-maneuver it at high speed.  Add a half-roll to your dive and the Zeke simply can't follow.

Yo CT guys--any chance of getting the P-40E and Ki-61 enabled in the CT?  Those two should match up really well at typical CT altitudes; they were certainly evenly matched opponents in reality.

that's strange, because I coulda swore I saw US insignia and not RAF insignia. Maybe my mind saw A-20 and hallucinated the US star. lol

FWIW, I liked this setup almost as much as I liked Battle of Britain.  This would be my Number Two so far, followed by North Africa.  WTG.

Thanks for the feedback, and for your participation.  I also enjoyed playing this one a great deal, though I'm looking forward to Malta.  This one will definitely be back.  As soon as we get a decent island map with CV's, we'll bring a similar set up back, only with the Kitty, SBD's, Vals, and Zekes stationed aboard...where they belong;).
