I worked in hospitals (ER) for 15 years and anyone coming through the ER with those kind of injuries would be in for at least two weeks (minimum).  My coworker's friend just had his brother break his jaw and he landed in the hospital for one week with no other injuries.
I don't know this person but I thought I might give the benefit of my personal experience...

Depends on when he got hurt, last time he posted was on the 2nd.

I'll assume it would have to have happened after that sometime..

Faking personal injury would be a bad idea for a troll I'd think, cause who's ever gonna know the difference?

I hope Elfie is healthy, but wouldn't he be in the hospital longer than till Monday with all those injuries? Could this be the troll to end all trolls?

If it is, .

If it ain't, get better soon bud.

If he dies it will be a funny death.
I mean, dying from bungee jumping. Isnt that like a russian roulette with much better odds?

If I die playing russian roulette I dont want anyone here ing me. All I want is taunts and "whattatard!"'s

I will miss his posts though. He was one of the few who could make interesting posts. His rant over the bum who died in the nurses's garage, that was priceless.

Bungee jumping has its origins with a tribe in the South Pacific islands.  The rite of passage to become a man involved proving courage by diving off a tower headfirst to the ground while wearing vines on the ankles.  The vines were measured so exactly, that the diver's head would sometimes touch the soft earth prepared for the point of impact.

I saw this on a National Geographic or Discovery Channel show years ago.  I don't know whether they still do this today, but it was a requirement that all males had to to.  It must have been terrifying.

Tying a rubber 'bungee' rope to your feet, and leaping off tall things like bridges....leaps that would be 100% fatal every time were it not for that stretchy bit of rope.
With the rope, it's only 50% fatal, some of the time.

ahhhhh.....here we call that "puenting". I did it a couple of times, loved it ;).

I gotta disagree with you, if you get the proper precautions, is very safe. The dynamic ropes used for it can stand thousands of lbs of tension, and the arnesses (sp?) used also are very secure.

All you have to do is to know how to fix the rope properly, and knowing the altitude you're jumping from to avoid finding the "hard way" that you used too much rope.

In my case, both times I've done it, we always were sure to leave a good dozen of meters of clearance between the top extension point of the rope and the ground.

So, If Elfenwolf has had an accident while doing this activity, I guess he had the latter problem and he used too much rope. I can't believe the rope broke (is impossible), and everyone who's doing this kind of thing MUST know how to fix a rope properly. So I guess he wanted to "touch the ground" in the lowest part of the jump...and he touched it too hard :(.

He has been VERY lucky to survive. If you're gonna do a risk activity, at least be sure you do it the safer way and be sure you stay well clear of the ground...Guess that is what he'll do from now onwards, if he stays doing this kind of jumps.

In Lansing, MI, maybe in 1994, someone bungee jumped from a balloon but unfortunately the ballon had not yet risen to proper height.  He bounced twice; the accident was fatal.  Even worse was they had film and it was on ALL the local channels for several news broadcasts.  My point:  mistakes happen all the time.

Rram,  those bungees do indeed break.  If this is true about Elfen (and I'm not quite convinced due to the little I know of him and how he likes to get attention), I'm guessing the bungee snapped when it pulled him back up and then he hit the airbag and fell off or just fell straight to the ground.  Judging from all the bungee jumps I've seen, a direct fall to the earth from the jump point would be fatal.

I guess you have to lay off the hot-dogs until after the bungee jump and save those few lbs of weight.

The cords are basically just large rubber bands, and like any rubber band every time you stretch it, it gets weaker.  And you'd be surprised at the amount of force you are inflicting on them.  If you drop an object 1' (30 cm) it has about 10 times its weight in impact.

So unless you are using new cords every time, or you own your own cords, and have some way of calculating strength lost per jump, it is just a game of Russian roulette with slightly better odds
