Mini Scenario tonight
« on: July 11, 2000, 01:22:00 PM »
Hi I wanna have a mini scenario tonight, it will be a allied raid on HQ with b17s. It will be historically baed, with instead of one massive ormation of german interceptors slamming into the b17s at once time, there will be 3 total german sorties, all of small size to go up and hit the incoming. Im looking to simulate a 1943 raid here, so the allies would be flying P47s and P38s while the Germans would be flying A8s and G6s. Would people be interested? I would also like to make it a (on your honor) icons off event. We dont have a way to turn em off now in the arena so people would just have to agree to it. Anyways, i will plan all the sorties in the mission planner if we can get enough people and write up a briefing. Was thinking about 8PM CST.

Is this in the SEA or MA? If you want to try the SEA, we can even set a little pre-dawn twilight to the game.

My daughter has a ballgame at that time, but one of the other SEA CM's could set the arena for you.

Zig,
Count me in.  I'll fly either side.  Also, I'll see if a couple other Musketeers are interested.

Last night there was a problem with the SEA.  I called Pyro and told him about it today, so hopefuly it's fixed, but it was a pretty big problem that may make it tought to use the SEA.

I'm at work right now and don't have time to explain further, so I will when I get home from work......

I think I have the SEA straightened out. I reset each field manually, checked every field, logged out and checked again. Everything was cool.

Cool a decent response. The mission will require the following:

6 P38 Drivers
6 Jug drivers
12 B17 drivers

8 190a8 drivers
8 190G6 drivers

The allies will roll at 8:00 PM CST, and the luftwaffe shortly thereafter, so if your flying american please be there by 7:45 PM or if you are luftwaffe please be there by 8:00 PM. Thanks. The missions will be in the mission planner to alleviate confusion.

I think there should be more B17s, also, the fighters shouldn't be able to escort the bombers all the way to the target since this is prolly based around the Schweinfurt/Regensburg(sp?) raid.

Anyway, I'm sure it'll be fun.

Sure, sounds fun. Ill fly whatever. Why A8?, 1943 would be an A5, right? Also, the P-38 was a rare occurence in the skies over western Europe. The first operational unit was the 55th and they were not operational till 25 November 1943, however P-47C's were from May 1943 on, along with Spitfires and mustang I's.

Doesn't matter to me, but I knew you were aiming torward a historical slant and thought I'd offer up those facts.

I'll be there, will fly whatever you need.

Allies roll just after 9PM EST so try and be there by 8:50 EST, axis roll 15 minutes after the allies tso be there by 9:00 EST. BTW we are using A5s instead of 8s now.

It's 6:15 pm central time.  I just went into the SEA and it is still messed up.

Zigrat, if you can meet me in the SEA at 8:15 eastern time, I'll see if I can get the arena set up for you.  or you can just tell me here what fields you want active for what countries and what planes go at the fields.
